VS 2010 Create A DLL Injector (merely For 3rd Party Option-toggling)?
Oct 15, 2009
I'm trying to create a DLL injector (merely for 3rd party option-toggling), but for some reason this code doesn't work.It will always return "Failed to create thread!"Here are the contents of the (Form1.vb)
Public Class Form1
Private Declare Function GetProcAddress Lib "kernel32" (ByVal hModule As Long, ByVal lpProcName As String) As Long
Private Declare Function GetModuleHandle Lib "kernel32" Alias "GetModuleHandleA" (ByVal lpModuleName As String) As Long
Private Declare Function LoadLibrary Lib "kernel32" Alias "LoadLibraryA" (ByVal lpLibFileName As String) As Long
I'm just wondering if it is possible to create an vb.net application to compress files, without using a 3rd party app. If yes, can you please point me in the right direction, give me some tips, tutorials or sample code?
this is an interesting problem and to be honest, I'm not sure there's a solution to it. But thought I'd ask the brain-trust here and see what comes up.I'm developing a dll that is loaded and ran within a third-party application. The third-party company provides an API to use that leverages their application's internal objects so that I can automate our processes. It's really pretty slick. They have a class object that represents the internal structure of their supported documents, appropriately titled Database. I would like to serialize the Database class using the ConfigurationConverterBase (to create a TypeConverter for conversion to and from) in conjunction with custom configuration elements and properties to store this information and retrieve when necessary. I've created the converter and all the necessary code for the custom configuration process. And it all works like a charm with one exception... the Database object does not have the Serializeable attribute applied.
Since I don't have control over the API they developed, I cannot simply add it. And since it is sealed, I cannot inherit it. This leaves me with an ugly option of converting the document to a temporary file that is a text-based version of it, then streaming it into memory before creating a binary format that can be saved into the config file. This is an ugly approach, but will get the job done.
Does anyone know how to work around the original issue for a more streamlined approach?
I have been finding a VB, or C# or C++ Dll injector for a long time. Ive decided to make one. So in VB i went to toolbar and found "Process" and i didnt know what to do after. how to make one (dont post code). Ive tried using the "GetProcessByID" thing but dont work.
I am developing an application and I use a 3rd party library which is basically Native excel. The problem is that this library does not implement an event which is able to notify me when the value of a cell value changes.
I have an application in VB/C# .NET which needs to interact with a third party API, but I would like to interface it out so I can use a mock API for testing purposes.[code]...
I am trying to create an interface between a third party application which can make use of C/C++ DLLs, but no interface directly to .NET. What I was hoping to accomplish (not sure if possible though), is create a very basic C++ DLL (not .NET), which the third party application would call directly. This DLL would contain a basic method such as "DoSomething()". Somehow, from my .NET application, I want to "listen" to this DLL and "takeover" the DoSomething() method, and then returning the result back to the DLL, which will in turn return the result back to the calling third party application.
I don't even know if this is possible because I'm sure I would somehow have to get a hold of the memory space of the DLL as initiated by the third party application. Also, it seems that creating a managed DLL does not work, based on feedback from other individuals who have tried this.
I have a form that has to be on top for a period of time, and then can be set behind other windows normally. Is there anything in addition to setting Me.TopMost to True or False that needs to be done? I ask because it doesn't seem to be working.
I have a series of check boxes and text boxes that are paired up together. 3 check boxes and three text boxes. Right now I have code in each of the Check boxes changed event as follows:
If UseSuffix_CheckBox.Checked = True Then SuffixValue_TextBox.Enabled = True SuffixValue_Label.Enabled = True
[Code]....
What I would like is to have one public routine (Function or Sub) that gets handed in the the control name/ref that just got clicked and then perform the functions listed in the above statement. Basically I want to have one routine that all the check box changed event points and acts on that check box and its paired text boxes and labels. I know it can be done just not sure how to pass the control that was clicked by the user to the sub.
I have a menu bar like this.I need to use them like radio buttons. So i have come up with this. Seems a nasty hack since it loops all my menu items. And if i later add different checks it would interfear.
vb Private Sub mnuMainMenuToolBarComposeExistingThread_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) _ Handles mnuMainMenuToolBarPrivateMessage.Click,
I have a form that has two views. These views are controlled by radio buttons on top of the form.
Here is the program:
Notice how the Radio button for Number Converter is selected.
Here is what it looks like when you select the Text Converter radio button:
That isn't right. I have it set to hide the panel containing the number converter and show the one containing the text converter when you click that one. It hides the number converter but doesn't show the text converter.
Here is a picture of the text converter panel:
Here is the relevant code:
Private Sub frmCalculator_Load(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load rdoNumberConverter.Checked = True End Sub
I have developed an application which includes CR to display reports. I just found out to run these report, CR runtime engine needs to be installed. I would like to know if possible to include the installation of CR Runtime Engine in the set up of my application? I have noticed the pre-requisite option in VS 2010. But how to add CR Runtime Engine installation to my set up?
I would like to know if its possible for my vb.net app to monitor a 3rd party application that it starts. I'd like it to check every 0.5 seconds to see if the child app has a dialog box visible with a specific text string caption. If it does then I want to close my app but if isn't yet visible, keep looping until it is. I'm asking because the 3rd party app has "no event firing when the application starts to load and then displays the dialog so there is no way for the 3rd party app to report back" to my vb.net app when this is loaded.
This came from the Technical Support from the 3rd party app after I asked if using waitforinputidle() in my app would allow me to detect when their app finishes loading and enters an idle state (sadly not). However they have suggested that it might be possible to monitor their app for a specific dialog caption and then close my app but this is beyond my novice understanding just now. How to go about such a process?
I want these labels to display the text from a third party Software program.
The text is displayed in a child form of the main form the text is in
"window handle is 000E0678"" RichEdit20W"
The text scroll up continuously,
every time - let's say John (10year) 'is displayed, it takes the 10y and place it in Label1
Ann (22year 7Street) 'is displayed, it takes the 22y & place it in Label2 7St in Label3
get that text in the labels I only know a little VB. I have used Spy++ to get the window handle
Yes lots for the pro's but we dont understand it, if its just code we dont know where to start or make changes to that code. This is something simple that beginners will understand
I just published a new sample on the MSDN Code Gallery. This may be useful for the community here if you would like to deploy your application without an installer and still have an option to create a shortcut.
This Desktop Shortcut sample allows programmers to give consumers a way to easily create a shortcut for the application. Most installers automatically come with this feature, but some prefer to keep installers lightweight and provide the shortcut manually.[URL]..
I need to create Encrypted "PayNow" paypal buttons on the fly for a website. I read all the documentation I can find on the paypal website. I understood that I need to use the BMCreateButton ButtonManager NVP API. But I've been unable to find any information, nor any reasonably simple and documented sample code, about HOW I'm supposed to call these API.
I have a client app written in VB (Visual Studio 2008) + VS 2008 SP1. I can see the option "Create desktop shortcut" under --- Publish > Option > Manifest but it is disabled. What do I need to do to enable it so I can have it checked before publishing it?
I know how to create shortcuts on desktop and program files but i want to make an option with checkboxes...so that you can select if you want those two shortcuts or if you don't them.I've tried this with checkboxes (in User Interface), i've set checkboxes properties and changed "User's desktop" and "User's Start Menu" conditions (in File System). "CHECKBOXA1" for desktop shortcut, "CHECKBOXA2" for start menu shortcut...but it doesn't work... both icons are visible every time.
I am using or trying to use the mp3 tag switches to create a lame options string. Here is a list of the switches that I am currently using; --tt "title" --ta "artist" --tg "genre"
Here is the code I am using; Private Sub gbtnCreateString_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles gbtnCreateString.Click 'For Encoding ONLY. Decoding to .wav = NO MP3 tags. 'Exception Prevention [Code] .....
I then add the lblLameOptions.text to the Lame.Arguments = lblLameOptions.Text. The following example is for mp3 to mp3. The text would display this; --resample 44.1 --tt TNT.mp3 --ta ACDC --tg ClassicRock
I need to create a telephone directory with search option(textbox). I use sql db as backend and vb.net for frontend. In this the user must search for a particular name using the textbox and the results have to be displayed in the gridview. how to do this?
I really like the coding speed that vb.net provides, but I don't like the possibility to forget to declare variable types, return types of functions, etc. and that is why in each class I use[code]..
Is there a way to define those two options on the project/solution level?
the combo box style 1 has both the drop down option but also a manual entry option. I need to know how to code it so that when you manually enter data, it takes that data and places it in a text message "The shipping charges for "data" is $15" displaying in a text box. Shouldn't be hard but have developed a mind block.
Excuse me for posting this, but I have searched both Google along with this forum before asking this question, maybe I'm not using the right keywords but I apologize if it's easy to find.I would like to know how one could close a third-party window (application) if a specified string was found in the window title.
After un installing visual basic 2010 express Beta 2 release i installed visual basic 2010 express final release and could not find he target CPU option in the compile tab of project properties. how could i now resolve the issue of "The 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0' provider is not registered on the local machine" ie by forcing the application to run as x86 application??
