I need to write a program that calculates and displays the depreciation of a businesses assets.I need the program to read a comma-delimited input file containing the names of multiple assets, their purchase prices, the years of their purchase and the number of years that the assets are expected to be useful.I need to use this straight line depreciation formula- (purchase price / number of years of usefulness) * (current year �purchase year)

I have to write a program that calculates amount due and provides a summary or rentals.Members get 10% off. The program is to calculate the Total rental price then how much the discount is and then the total amount due. I have a program where I have to calculate straight-line depreciation (cost * 1/n) n being the number of years to depreciate, and Double-Declining depreciation (cost * 2/n) using user input for year of purchase, cost, and years of depreciation. The output needs to be put into 4 columns in a list box. Year, Value at beginning of year, Amount of depreciation during the year and Total depreciation to the end of the year.
The problem I am having is with my loop. It is not properly calculating. I'm sure I am doing something wrong that is simple, but I can't see it.

VISUAL BASIC 2008. Program Description: Create a program that calculates the amount of quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies are needed from an amount of change (entered in pennies). The program should use the largest coins possible (for example, fifty cents should use two quarters, not five dimes, fifty pennies, etc.)
I don't want the code already written out, I need somebody to walk me through making a code. Also, this is my first class dealing with computer programming so all we've learned so far is declaring variables and how to label objects, the simple stuff. I'm at a loss at how to start because a quarter is worth 25 but the program is supposed to show how many quarters once a user enters the amount in cents.

I am building a program that calculates the number of books by points.Ex: 1-3 books read are worth 10 points, 4-6 are worth 15 and > 6 are worth 20. The issue I'm having is getting it to calculate the the first 3 books, the 2nd 3 books and then the > 6.Ex: User inputs 8 books read. It should display 115 in the label.
1. I'm using an If statement (should I be)
2. Could I use a decimal for the > 6?
Ex: intTotalNumberOfBooks = (intTotalNumberOfBooks * intFirst3Books) *#D
I know this is something simple and it's out of VB 101, but it is my very first programming class and my professor uses a copy paste method during class.

I have a DataTable with two DateTime columns: "start_time" and "end_time".Now, I want to add a third column that calculates the difference between the two DateTimes. But I can't seem to figure out how. I've tried to set the .Expression-value to "start_time - end_time", but it says that "-"-operator is not allowed on DateTime.

I am trying to write a program which loads a tiff image on picturebox. Then the user clicks somewhere on loaded image to set the starting x,y coordinates and clicks again to set the ending x,y point. Then clicks the run button and the starting and ending x,y points are written on label.
Just to test the program a loaded a tiff image that has a dimension of 75x75 pixels. When I click upperleft and downright corners of the image, the program outputs the coordinates as starting x,y as (103,89) and ending points as (170,157). The program outputs wrong coordinates becayse the image has 75 rows and 75 colums only. To me, it should have outputted starting point as (0,0) and ending points as (75,75).

I'm using Visual Studio 2010 Express Edition - Visual Basic.I'm very new to VB but I would like to create a program / splash screen that displays a list of files (Word, Excel, Project) that are located on a CD. I'm not sure how to start other than starting out creating a new project.
Here is how I would like the program to work. The user inserts a CD-rom (containing the program and a folder with all the files) the program automatically starts up when the CD is inserted and it displays a list of all the files on the CD. The user can click any of the files to start the program that created it. Example, if we have an Excel file called "Work Schedule", the user could click it and it would open in Excel.
After I've created the project and have a form, I'm not sure what tools I need to use to display the list of files.I'm not sure how I set up the connection (path) between the program and the folder containing all files, especially as they will all eventually be located on the same CD.

I have to create program that adds the whole numbers from 1 to 1000 and displays the sum in the label. Create a variation of this program that allows the user to specify any starting whole number and any ending whole number (10,000 or lower) and then adds all the whole numbers in that range. Allow for the possibility that a user may start with a high number and end with a low number. Format the label so that commas are displayed and there are no decimal places showing.
