WPF - Usercontrol As ListItemTemplate Not Filling Listbox Width
Apr 11, 2011
Just trying to get my head round WPF. I have a usercontrol which I'm using as the template for items in a listbox, however no matter what I try the usercontrol's width is always shrinking to the minimum size but I want it to fill the available width. I've found a similar query on here but it was relating just to a usercontrol not within a listbox and the solution proposed doesn't apply here.
I have this assignment which has to read the names from a sequential file and store them in the names array. Then i have to sort the array in descending order and listbox. Only I'm having a problem when i try to implement the sort method. Theres no syntax error but the sorts not happening.
I created a user control with a listbox in it and a public property ListItem() Public Property ListItem() As String Get Return _ListItem End Get Set(ByVal value As String) _ListItem = value End Set End Property
On FormLoad I wish to fill the Usercontrol Listbox with the values that the user supplies. Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load Dim u As New UserControl1() u.ListItem = "hello" u.ListBox1.Items.Add(u.ListItem) End Sub The Listbox does get filled.
I am trying to populate a listbox from access (and later SQL 2008) that will display all item names that are marked yes in another column. It is a validation for verifying whether or not it needs to be displayed. I am using the databinding method in the properties window and I am not sure how to do this without coding.

For example: test is a variable test = 1 How do I make that if test = 1 that a listbox fills with the items: red, blue, green, yellow? If test = 1 Then listbox1....
I converted some code from vb6 to vb2005 that opens a recordset and populates a listbox with about 8,000 names. It uses classic ado. The vb6 code does it in about 0.75 of a second, the first vb2005 code does it in about 5.5 seconds while the second vb2005 code does it in about 4.5 seconds. Is there any way to improve the vb2005 performance a fair bit more?
I want the ability to auto stretch the listview control column when the form gets resized in vb.net 2008 These are the properties I am mentioning for the ListView now :
I have a user control which contains several buttons and a listbox. Clicking a buttondetermines what items are in the listbox. When a user clicks an item in the listbox I want the selecteditem passed to the parent form.
Imports System.Data.SqlClient Public Class ListViewData Public Sub FillListView(ByRef MyListView As ListView, _
[code]....
I want all the listview columns to be in auto width. I tried adding the next line of code but then only my first column fills my entering listview width. All other columns are not affected!
This Winforms app has a toolStripComboBox within a MenuStrip container that displays Culture Info languages. The toolStripComboBox's width is not expanding to accommodate the size of the string. The strings are dynamically added to the combobox from underlying code. How do I get the comboboxe's width to expand? Below is an image of the'too narrow' combobox and below that the Properties for the combobox.
In VB.NET for the combo box, I have set the autocomplete mode to "SuggestAppend" and autocomplete source to "ListItems". Its working as expected. But the width of the autosuggest dropdown box is not same as that of combo box and so it looks weird.I tried changing the value dropdown width property but it changes the value of normal dropdown box (seen after clicking down arrow on combobox), and not the autosuggest dropdown box.So what code or property needs to be set to make autosuggest dropdown box the same width as that of combobox width?
I use the code below to fill the list box and it works great. But i need it to only look in the \Software and \Software\FolderName Foldername could be any folder in the Software folder i need it to get all the .exe from software folder and only one more folder deep no more.
I have a drawing program written in VB6 that is capable of printing very thin lines to a laser printer. In VB .net, even though the pen width is set to 1, the thinnest lines are way too "thick". The equivalent line width in VB .net using a pen width of 1 is about the same as the DrawWidth = 4 in VB6. So, my question is, how can I print very thin lines to a laser printer in VB .net?
how to adjust the width of the listview and also the datagridview to the width of the form.Because I want it to be able to follow the form's width and when maximized the form, the listview or the datagridview will also be maximized to the form's width.
I have MainLayout.master that has UC_Menu.ascx on it. I have a page named Customer.aspx that uses MainLayout.master. Customer.aspx also contains a UserControl named UC_Details.ascx.How can I have UC_Menu.ascx call a function that is in UC_Details.ascx with this scenario?
I have a Windows Form frmMain() holding seven more-or-less unrelated UserControls, ucFlopsy", "ucMopsy", "ucCottontail", etc...I say "more-or-less" because each of the seven UC has three similar public read/write properties:
IsLocked (a boolean indicating if the following two properties are "Locked") IsLockedID (if IsLocked=True then IsLockedID is an integer) IsLockedName (if IsLocked=True then IsLockedName is a string)
I have a Windows Form that contains a custom control container as a UserControl. For the sake of this question, this custom control container is called Dashboard. This container called Dashboard contains numerous other controls depending on their permissions. I need to raise events that are contained on these controls through the Dashboard control and over to the Windows Form.
How can I bubble up the event? I'm using VB.NET for this project, but can convert C# into VB.NET.Also, to complicate matters, the main Windows Form is a VB6 project. So, I'm using the InteropFormsToolkit to accomplish this.
I have two UserControls on a MasterPage. DataEntryUC contains several TextBoxes and DropDownList. NavSaveUC contains navigation buttons. When the user clicks on a navigation button, I will be saving the data entered into DataEntryUC from the NavSaveUC UserControl.
I have a couple of tables in my DB that contain stored procedure names, control names, control types, SqlDbTypes, etc.... that correlate with DataEntryUC.
How do I reference a text box that is on DataEntryUC from NavSaveUC?
I have been working on the following code from NavSaveUC with no luck.
Dim MyControlName = "txtFirstName" Dim MyControlType = "TextBox" Dim MyStringValue as String
I have a usercontrol that has a main form and calls another form within the usercontrol to get some data from a database that allows the user to select some items from a CheckedListBox control on the sub form. I want to pass the selected items from the CheckedListBox back to the main form and display the results there. I have a public property called DBList of type List(of String) on the main user control. If I create a reference to the usercontrol form the second form within the usercontrol I get a new instance of a user control. All I want to do is set the property on the usercontrol and close the secondary form. How do I reference the usercontrol from the form within the usercontrol?
Code in UserControl:
Public Property DBItems() As List(Of String) Get Return DBItems
I have one data grid which contains a column which contains long string values. When I edit it, the text box which appears is very small. I want to increase the length of text box.
I just discovered the joys of UserControl's and I was wondering if it is possible to populate the usercontrol with data from a database in the UserControl's Form.Load event instead of the form the userControl is placed on. I feel it would make using the control a lot easier if it just populated itself without anymore code.I tried it with a ListView but it gave me a bunch of errors, so I didn't know if it had to be done a certain way or if it was just one of those things that doesn't work no matter what.
If I set a ListBox.Height = ListBox.PreferredHeight when the control is hidden and IntegralHeight = True, then set it visible:
a) Actual Height reduces by typically 3-5 pixels after redraw (but not 1 pixel per item).
b) PreferredHeight does not not appear to give the correct integral of item heights.
Is there a way to make ListBox calculate the correct integral Height before the ListBox is made visible, so it can be correctly pre-positioned from bottom edge?
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
I am trying to fill form located here [URL] web browser control.i am using below mentioned code

i am also unable to select radio button regular link.I just want to know how to add text to textarea box "Description" and also want to know how to select specific category from combobox category.
