I have a Stored Procedure that I'm trying to use in my vb.net program to fill a form with multiple datagrids.The Stored Proc looks like this:

My question is how do I address the multiple select statements in the return values of this Stored Proc? The way this is written will it return all the values from each select? or just the first one?

I am new to vb and I am having so much trouble with this. What I need to do is this: I have a form application for winter sports equipment rental.I have a listbox filled with the equipment for the user to choose from then I have a combobox for the user to select the duration they would like to rent it. The book that I am using has no examples I can refrence and i have had no luck online either. I am posting what I have so far. However, i think I am going in the wrong direction. I have been working on this for so long that I think I have over thought it and made a mess of it. I am thinking that I need to add a new class for rentalRates then use enum of durationType and equipmentType but I am unsure how to move that way. View 1 RepliesI have multiple datasets that I would like to combine into one. There is a common ID field that can be associated to each row. Calling Merge on the dataset will add additional rows to the dataset, but I would like to combine the additional columns. There are too many fields to do this in one query and therefore would make it unmanageable. Each individual query would be able to handle ordering to ensure the data is placed in the correct row.
For Example lets say I have two queries resulting in two datasets:
SELECT ID, colA, colB
SELECT colC, colD
The resulting dataset would look like
ID colA colB colC colD
1 a b c d
2 e f g h
I have a question regarding the dataset usage in Reporting Services. I have a stored procedure which returns multiple select statements (result tables), and I created a Dataset in Reporting Services 2005 with this stored procedure. The problem is that I can not reference the second or third result table, and I can only use the first select statement fields. Is this the limitation on Reporting Services Dataset or is there a way to use multiple table results in one dataset?

the problems is: whenever the index is changed in one combobox, it's automatically changed in the other one too.

1.Is it possible to store multiple tables in a single DataSet?

I am experiencing something very bizarre when I execute the Fill method of my adapter. I've been running this query for months and all of the sudden this is happening after I installed SP1 for Visual Studio 2008. For some reason several DataRows in 2 of the 3 tables within my DataSet have errors in them when I view them in debug mode using the DataSet Visualizer. Here is a picture of what I'm talking about
It does this to random rows. If I execute the Fill method the first time, rows (5-10) will have these errors. If I execute the Fill method again rows 12-23 are affected and so on. I have no idea what is happening here.
This is effected my DataGridViews, because they don't display any rows, because of the erros. I should also note that when I run the lines of code below in the Immediate Window it says the DataSet doesn't have errors.

How to Query multiple tables in a dataset to form single consolidated table without using any external database. I know this can be done using 'JOIN' in SQl.

I've been working with a remote mysql database. The design of the database pretty much requires that I use SELECT commands that include multiple tables, and sometimes joins. Updating a single table query is SO EASY, yet dealing with multiple tables has me pulling my hair out.

What's killing me is that if I make a change to a field in the products table in the datagridview and press button1, the changes are saved. If I make a change to a field in the specials table in the datagridview and press button2, the changes are saved. If I combine the two updates together in a single routine, only the first one is saved. I presume this is because after the first update executes, the dataadapter no longer reports that there are any changes to save, since the update already happened.
I've tried breaking this up into separate dataadapters for each table, but then even using dataset relations, I can't get the data together in a single datagridview. On top of that, the grid itself is only intended to be used for searching and querying data. It still needs to be bound along with a set of textboxes that accept the input.
Lastly, this database is part of an ever-evolving website database with dozens of tables that need interfacing. I just can't see manually maintaining hand written sql statements for every table. That's why I've been working so hard to get the commandbuilder to handle it.

Before using the DA Update I am using 'If DSxyz.HasChanges(). It seems that when I make a change anywhere on the form affecting 1 dataset, all of the datasets show this to be true.
