I have a Windows.Worms application. In one of my forms I display a DataGridView with a ContextMenu (not ContextMenuStrip) associated to it. The MenuItems in the ContextMenu have Shortcuts defined.This is how the ContextMenu is created:

I am trying to send keys to a control on my form. But I am getting a NullReferenceException and I don't know why. The code is about as basic as it gets: [Code] The error reported is object reference not set to an instance of an object but Send is a shared method so doesn't need an instance. Strangely if I ignore the error it works fine and F4 is passed to the control. I know there was an issue with sendkeys and UAC but I thought this had been solved (I am using 4.0 framework).

I have a parent form that has a list of items and each item has a unique ID. The user can open one or many of the items in a child form (it is set up in a tabbed MDI), but it can only open one instance of each item at a time.
In the parent form, I was going to make a collection (or something like that, maybe there is a better way) to keep track of which items are open in the child forms. I need to know when each child is closed so that it can be removed from the collection and reopened at a later time. I was thinking that when the child form closes, it somehow does something (like raise an event) that tells the parent form to remove the unique ID from the list of current open child forms.
My questions are, is this a good way to do this and I am pretty sure I would use the form closed event in the child form to update that parent form, but as well, I didn't know if this is the best way of handling it.
If raising the event is a good way, are some examples on how to do it out there? I found some for controls, but not while the form is closing/closed.

I am using VBA to create a barcode label application that sends a series of ZPL (Zebra programming language) commands to a USB printer.I need this program to be stand alone in the sense that the Excel 2007 workbook that I am embedding the macro in and the printer driver are the only software that will be required to sucessfully run this program on various computers that have Excel 2007 installed. Additionally I need this program to work directly with the USB port and not a serial/ usb converter. Can someone help me, or direct me to help, to perform this kind of operation? I used to be able to read and write to serial/ parallel ports and haven't worked with USB from a programming perspective.

I'm writing a Repeater Control in an ascx file which renders some info as a row that comes from a complex search. In an aspx file I have the query to retrieve a DataView that gives me the XML string with the info needed to feed the Repeater. The problem is that I don't know how can I pass the XML string (or the DataView or DataSet) from the aspx to the ascx file so as I can render the info.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to send a control string from VB.NET to a serial port. I am using a pololu trex jr. on the receiving end of the serial port. I have attached a copy of my current code which compiles without errors, but fails to send data. I can tell that it is not sending data because I have a light on the control board connected to the port and it normally blinks when data is received. The program that came with the board drives it perfectly but does not serve the purpose I need it to. I am open to any suggestions as I eventually plan to write a class to contain the control routines.

I want to be able to send an update to a label regarding the progress of the process during the length of the process, so that the user will know how far the progress has gone. Unfortunately, the label is only updated at the end of the process. I try to simulate it with a simple code below, where the label should be updated from 1 to 10, but it is only updated at 10, rather than 1, then 2, etc until 10. It does not help to show only the end!

I currently have a simple VB.Net WebBrowser program uses webbrowser control, I 'd like to have certain data returned by a sever in the open web page send to the VB.net program, i.e. retrieve the html response from ASP.NET page.
i need to query a database a user's Full Name, when data is returned by the sever side script, it won't do any update on the web page, instead it should notify the VB.net program what users' full name is.

I can succesfully send postmessage Tab key and it tabs through the links and controls, but it does not click on the link when I send Enter key.The website I am opening has frames, and due to the cross frame scripting policies microsoft forced into the IE control , I cannot retrieve the links from the IFRAMES on the page. So my alternative thinking is to use Tab keys to get to the link and then press Enter.

I am looking to create a VB 2008 Express programme which converts a data stream from a picoscope muscle sensor into a power output board which controls a mechanism.In simple terms when the Muscle sensor reaches a value of 0.8 V or higher I want the programme to send a text file to the power output control programme, and likewise when the sensor is below 0.2 V I want the power to be zero.
So 0.8 V > = send text file (0O=100%)
0.2 V < = send text file (0O=0%)
so when muscles being senced move the device turns on and off.I think I am successfully getting the data stream from the Picoscope which is plugged in the usb. I am using codes and examples that the programming guide for the device provided.here is a quick snap shot of the code (ps2000 is the driver used for the device)

The following code works perfectly to allow moving a control on a form at run-time. However, when AutoScroll is set to True on Form1, and you drag Button1 past the right and/or bottom bounds of the form, it goes haywire. I really need someway to smoothing control the autoscroll so that as you scroll the control off the form, the scrollbars smoothly appear.
