I have an image column in a dgv. I set the value from My.Resources.XXX.How can I compare the value of the cells with an image in the resource? dgv.rows(0).cells(0).value=My.Resources.S_DEFECT don't seems to work. I tried it with object.equals, but no success.
View 1 RepliesI have just found that if a DataGridView image column's size (height & width - in pixels) is smaller than the image's original size (in my case all images are exactly 180 x 180 pixels) at the time the cell is populated then the image is automatically being converted to a lower resolution I assume to fit the image completely within the size of the cell). How can I stop the automatic scaling of the image?
The image below show the same file displayed twice, both at 60x60 pixels ('Thumbnail' column) and a blowup of the image (PictureBox populated via the CellMouseEnter event) to it's right. You'll notice the resolution of the first blowup is far less the the second. so, what made the difference in the resolution of the blowups is? In the second blowup's case I'd first stretched the image column's width to ~180 pixels and set the row height to match (via the ColumnWidthChanged event) then populated the DataGridView then stretched the image column to 60 pixels (its minimum).

I have a program that is reading an Excel (xlsx) file and I am trying to take the data found in one of the cells and split it based upon the '@' symbol inside that cell. Here's an example: value in cell is "XXX @ YYY" I declare 3 strings (strOriginal, strA, strH) strOriginal is the value from the cell ("XXX @ YYY") then my code is supposed to split up the values in the Original string based upon that '@' symbol.So when my code is done, strA should = 'XXX' and strH should = 'YYY'.

For some unknown reason, the y integer (in this case, it is '4') changes to a random number (it has changed to 44, 61, 124) and causes the error "Error with Excel file: Index and length must refer to a location within the string. Parameter name: length" to occur.I understand why the error occurs (my y integer is not staying at 4)...I just don't understand why that y integer is changing numbers when it should remain as the indexof the '@' symbol. I'm looking for any suggestions on how to pull out the data after the space after the '@' symbol (the 'YYY' portion of 'XXX @ YYY'). Also sometimes the 'YYY' is only 'YY' as well.

View 8 Repliesand i need to convert the image into a text.now anyone thinking that i can just use ocr is unfortunatly wrong i have tried about 5 of them and they dont work because the text in the image is to small for it to recognise it.so i need to search the above image for a smaller image such as this.so by doing this if i get a result saying true then i will be able to go from be there and convert to text.now i know of two way to search an image for a smaller image. first is by going by pixel search and well i can get that to work but it is to slow.the second method is to convert the image to a byte array(beig an image it will be a 2d byte array) and convert the other image to a byte array and then compare.

View 1 RepliesWe stream the BBC news channel through a laptop hooked to a PC in reception for our clients. Annoyingly the stream is interrupted randomly (the line isn't dropping, it's the BBC's problem). Therefore when it's interrupted we get an error screen appearing which we have to go and manually refresh to get the stream back playing.
My intentions are to build an app which will be run alongside (silently) the stream monitoring intermittently a range of pixels. If the range matches the error screen that I mentioned previously then I'd call "Esc" to exit the full screen and then "F5" to refresh the browser and finally a double click on a specified coordinate to bring it back to full screen.
Problem: I've been doing some googling and so far have only seen related posts where the comparison is between two saved images. Due to this I expect the answer to be "Take a screenshot every now and then, compare, return result".

I want to read the values of the 8 neighboring cells in an image as shown on the attached file. For example, the green cell is the home cell and it has 8 neighbors (cells from 1 to 8 as seen on the attached image). It will read all 8 neighboring cells then it will move one cell to right (now pixel 4 will be home pixel). Again it will read its neighboring cell values and then it will move to next pixel etc. It will continue till to the end (the last cell or pixel of the image).

What I'm trying to do is parse out the image URL, download the image and put the smiley in the correct spot between the text of the message.I can do the parsing and downloading of the image into the datagridview but this only works of the column is set as an image column. I created a directory in my solution called "references" where I put all the .bmp files
I don't know how to do this. My first thought was to put an expression in the DataTable Properties, but I didn't manage to make that work. Another way is to format the cells in the "Symbol" column, and again I don't know how to do that. I tried with "Select Case ... Case ... End Select" with no success.

I would like to make it so that you can click one of many buttons to set which new image the grid cell will be set to when you click it. I've set up pretty much everything except that I can't figure out how to set the background image of the cell that I clicked.

I have a datagrid where the first column is for image button for expand purpose. The visibility of the image depends on some conditions row by row. I am trying to handle this in ItemDataBound event, and using e.item.cell(0).findcontrol("imageButton").visible = false. The first cell of this row therefore disappears even that the size is specified in the ItemStyle tag.

View 2 RepliesThe problem is that if you never enter anything into a cell for a new row then that cell is never validated. This is a problem because I have columns that should not be null. I am doing the check in the row level validation and storing the information about which cells are empty that should not be empty. The row level validation works fine and the row level validation error indicator goes on,(red exclamation mark at the beginning of the row) but I also need a visual indicator on the individual cells that are in error.
I am thinking that setting the HasError property for the cells that are in error should cause them to display n error style (the default red border). Is there a way to this this either from XAML (perferably) or from code?Alternatively I could cause those cells to re-validate when the row editing is finished. Does anyone know how to do this?

I'm attempting to copy cells, one at a time, from an Excel 2003 (or 2007) spreadsheet to a Word 2003 (or 2007) table. I'd like the code to be version-agnostic, and so am using late binding. The formatting of the contents of the Excel cell, such as color, underline, strike-through, needs to be preserved. My approach is to use a Word doc as a template. It has a table at the top which I can copy to the end of the doc, add rows as needed, and fill in the word table cells with the data from the excel spreadsheet. Unfortunately, all the formatting disappears. All I get is the text itself.

I have a DataGridView with several columns. One column is a TextBox column named "Status". This column can only show one of three values: 'Final', 'Ready', or 'No Reportable'. I want to have some code that would turn the TextBox cell into a ComboBox cell when the user left-clicks on the cell to allow the user to choose one of these three options. When the user clicks elsewhere or the cell loses focus I want the cell to change back to a TextBox cell.
Here is what I have so far, but the code throws an exception indicated below Plus, I don't think the code would remove the combobox when the cell loses focus.
