I have it in a string, what I need to do is search for a numeric pattern within the string such as:I looked into regex a bit, but I don't have much time to read deep into it (my company needs the program this week) and it seems too complex to grasp in such a short time. What I've came across so far is:
If (rec.address1 Like "###-##-####")
but I don't know if this will filter it out of the string (it can appear with an address attached to it).
Searching A String For Specific Values?
Jun 26, 2009I have a program which grabs the source code of a webpage and puts it into a string. I would now like to search the string for two values.
"video_id": "value 1 here"
"t": "value 2 here"
The problem, is that I don't know the position of the values, and I the values change depending on each webpage. All I know, is the text before the value, e.g. "video_id" and "t:"
Here is my code:

This is the complete content of the INI file in question: http:[url]....I believe it is because of the [ ] tags in that INI file. Because they work if I remove the tags.My program has a bunch of comboboxes, trackbars and checkboxes. These items will be filled by the information taken from the INI file.For instance, ini file has these lines;
bCrosshairEnabled=1
bDoDepthOfField=0
bFXAAEnabled=1[code]...
Example: I want the checkbox8 in my form to get checked if bFXAAEnabled has a value of 1 or unchecked if it is 0.

Apr 6, 2009I've tried a few different methods I could find in order to connect my VB .NET program to a book store's database. While I've been able to connect to it and display the contents of its tables in a DataGrid, I need to be able to search the tables and display specific records, depending on the contents of appropriate the adjacent text boxes.[code]This is a code I've used for a very similar process, just really aims to search a different field in the table. If this is easier to adapt into a code that allows searching and producing specific records in a database, please use this one.

FirstName
LastName
PhoneNumber
Basically what I am trying to do is create a Search function where the user will enter a First and Last Name in the search boxes and upon hitting the ''Search'' button the program will look through the database and check if the records exists.
If the record does exist then I want the Phone number to appear in a separate textbox which is named txtPhoneN. I have included the code I use to connect to the Database. I have already managed code the part to Add new record to the database.

Sep 1, 2009I have a excel report with one sheet called "Export Report". I then add 4 more sheets and rename them accordingly.
I then need to search in "Export Report" in column A, but unknown row for the word 'Definitions' and then once found I have to copy 'Definitions' and 10 rows belows it, to the sheet called "Definitions"
How can I achieve this? At the moment I am stuck at the point of finding the word 'Definitions'. I get error Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A9C64 at this line:

Jul 24, 2011I wonder if it is possible to find a specific row and specific columns in data base file (Access) . You see , I am using a DataGridView control to show only SOME of the columns (fields) of a table from an Access file . For example , lets say that in the DataGridView control I only show the following fields :Field1 , Field2 and Field3 .Now , when the user selects an entry in the DataGridView control , I want to insert the text from Field4 into a text box on the form .
The problem , however , is that I don't know how to get the specific row in the data base file and also I don't know how to get the text in column (field) Field4 of that row .One thing that might be important is that the index of the row in the data base file is not necessarily the same with the index of the current row in the DataGridView control . This is because in the DataGridView control the rows are order by the contents in the ID Field .ol .

The Locate String is there because thats the location where the iso files are but the application is in the root of the drive. The ListBox1 command is fairly easy to understand

Now as you can see these are the codes you may have seen in many forums
Now want i want .Net to do is filter the the content in a textbox
And remove only the lines marked with red "[quote=randombla13]" from the first line
And the Extra "[quote]" from the end line
As you can see in the example the content has two "Quotes" so i jest want to remove only one from the first line and last line of the content
And note "[quote=randombla13]" the length after the = is Unknown it maybe of 6 characters or less or more

Apr 27, 2010Strange story... I downloaded VMWare but it has since advised of an available update. I downloaded the update and when I click to install it, a window comes up with VB Code from a project I created a while back in a completely separate folder from this install file. I then tried downloading the trial of VMWare Workstation and when running the installer it shows the same thing. I don't know of anyway to contact VMWare support since I don't pay for any services or products and all there is available is a FAQ type section. Of course this problem would not be in there, nor can I find any such related issue online. his is VMWare specific or perhaps the type of install specific. I have no other issues with any other app installations other than with VMWare installations.

Feb 9, 2011Im having a bit of trouble with my form,I have a QUOTATIONS form that displays data to the Employye about Over timne etc. I want to be able to Search through the Employye file using either the ID or there Name.
I have the code to search through the file using there ID, i have addapted the code for there name, but can't run both at the same time.As in - i can serach by one, but not by both. If you see what i mean?
I want to be able to search by Either ID or Name. I can run either one or tother, but not both at the same time,giving them a choice.Was thinking about using a seperate form, but that didn't work?

Jan 11, 2010I am trying to search through items in listview control in vb.net one by one. i.e When the user types in some keyworrk in the textbox and presses enter, the first found item in the listview should get highlighted, when he presses enter again, the second search item in the listview should get highlighted and so on.

Aug 23, 2010I have an object that I'm instantiating in VB.NET. I'm trying to see if it's storing a particular value somewhere in it. If I look at the object in the watch window in the VS 2010 IDE, I see this huge tree structure with thousands of nodes, many layers deep.
I'd like to be able to search for a value "1234" in this huge tree structure. I tried using serialization to convert the object to xml, but it complains that it doesn't have a parameterless constructor, since this object is provided by a third party, I can't add a parameterless constructor.Is there any way that I can search this object? Is there anyway that I can convert the tree structure that I see in the vs 2010 watch window to an xml document, or a string?
