Program That Collects Response Data As Part Of A Psychology Experiment?

Have a program that collects response data as part of a psychology experiment and i want the output text files to show up on the users desktop so that they can find them easily and e-mail them to me. I'm using Parallels on my Mac to run windows XP and found the files in a desktop folder but they were not on the desktop. Am I coding this right?

I'm creating a VB program to run a psychology experiment and I'm pretty close to done but am running into a few problems. The experiment consists of 8 phases that display on a single form but with different stimuli (pictures and text) being displayed on the form. So for example, at the top of the form would appear "dog" and below that in the center of the screen would appear the word "cat" and then the subject would select one of two option buttons, one being on the bottom left of the screen and one being on the bottom right of the screen.
One option button is labeled "Similar" and the other is labeled "Opposite". I also have corrective feedback displayed after each choice is made. Here are the things I have not figured out

Im using TCP cliente to connect and receive data from my server. To read received data im using this code:

It works fine when server response is detected but when there is no connection or there is no server respone the program starts to crash and doesn't work, so i have to break the debuggind process.

It works perfectly, but..Because of the headnler set to ME (or form1) this code dosn't work when form is not visible or active But i need this code to work when form is hidden.. I have a small program which is a tcp client. I send a string from this client to a device over ethernet (it acts as the tcp server). As soon as the device recieves the input string it will respond back with response data. My problem is i am not getting the entire response data back from the server. (device).

I have a program written in VB 2010 express under windows xp which does some heavy number crunching combined with serial communication. When it "gets too busy" it does not update the screen anymore (done simply with Textbox.text = "any text") and it does not respond to user input in any text box. Not even to a click on any text box. Is there a way I can get the program to do screen update and respond to user input while it is busy?

I've an application that's uploading data to a server. Occasionally the server returns a 403 response from a call to HttpWebRequest.GetRequestStream(). The response contains more data than simply the response code, but I can't figure out how to access it. Is there a way to do this?

Background information: I am simply using Fiddler2 to monitor my HTTP connections.
When I am posting data, there is no actual post data. The data I enter into the web page is only in the hex view or the raw data. How can I send a request using raw data or whatever method with a webrequest?

I have 1 project with about 7 forms. On each form I have 6 x 4 responses radio buttons (i.e. a multiple choice quiz). If the correct response is selected, the examinee gets 1 point, else 0. At the end of the quiz, the examinee can click a button that will add up all the correct responses & display the % correct. How do I program the button to do this given that data are on 7 different forms? [URL].

I'm trying to get data from a webservice, returning just one result, the number of a given item in stock.
I'm successfully getting a result, but need to strip all the XML code from it to simple return the number, the XML being returned looks like:

With just a couple of tweaks to get the data correctly, most notably changing the content type to application/soap+xml and passing the data as XML.
I am using VB with ASP.NET 2.0.

I don't get the last part with naming the xml form field. What the xml form field means (stands for) in this context?

Is there any other way to access a serial port using visual basic.net 2010? I followed the steps in this site, [URL] but I just got this output Open the serial port. Send the attention command to the modem. Wait for data to come back to the serial port... and stopped there. I can't get the Read the OK response data in the serial port. Close the serial port. And I was thinking, because it is very much easy to access serial port in vb6, so can I just use vb6 and then connect to visual basic.net? it is like a language inside a language.

I am working on a program where the user inputs values, then the program calculates those values and outputs the sum. When the user hits the button exit then those values entered by the user are saved. When the user starts the program again, the values are still there. I wrote the code and everything works fine. I am saving those values in notepad... and the program grabs the input in notepad and outputs those values to the program. But here comes the problem:
Lets say the user wants the information in a certain column to be added to another column somewhere in the program. Is that possible ? And if it is can it be done when I am saving those values in notepad ?

Im trying to make a fast food program on which the user will input the amount that he has, then he will click on what he wants, by using check boxes. There are 7 different check boxes with 7 different amounts of money. I got an idea on what to do (they will check on what they want and the program will add up the total and there is only one of each item), but im confused on how to put the amount on where the check boxes (in the program area and not the text area) and add them together. After that all I need to do is add everything up, with sales tax, and tell the user if he has enough money or not. But what im confused on is how do I get the check boxes to a amount of money and add them up (all the ones hes checked) I just dont know how to code this part of the program, once I get one done all I have to do is the same for each one, and everything showed be easy after that. But how do I put an amount on a check box and add them all up?

im making an application in vb.net (duh!) anyway i have created and coded the whole project and it performs exactly as i want it to (i dont need code help). my problem lies with the fact that my project is 2-3 parts
1.a setup form that gathers inital data about the enviroment stores this data encrypted in a config file. after inital setup this form is not displayed again. but needs to be run on both computers
2. the second form is the real application form im in the process of turning this part in to a background service anyway this form is the one that establishes the connection between two nodes it works correctly
3. the config files
anyway here is my problem i want to make this application distributional with just one file the (.exe) and have this .exe make everything else happen. it runs the setup form and creates the first config file which it does then it needs to produce a copy of just the second form and the config file to transfer to workstation #2 that will run independtly without the whole application which i cant make happen then it needs to turn both workstations application on by only starting one on either computer and invoke the other computer to start its corrosponding app also no idea how to make this happen any ideas or suggestions as to where to look to try to find my answers.im thinking i might need to make two seperate applications (a setup app, and the running app) and include them both in a project and use the setup.exe to to package them together this is a little side project that im making for my self to use to make programming a little easier so i plan on giving it out to some fellow students to test and tell me what they think so im not really worried about ease of use or complicated procedures yet but if it turns out to work and actually be of use to anyone else i would be willing to rewrite it to distribute to the masses but for now i just want it to work for me.

I'm trying to get the value part from the source and have it printed out to a TextBox on my program. I'm not sure how to do this but I tried. I made a new HtmlElement called email. Then I did email = WebBrowser1.Document.All.Item("email") However, when I try to add it to my textbox it doesn't work.

I am importing data from CSV file into a dataset using OLEDB data adaptor.I created a query with query builder to extract the desired data then copied the text generated into my code. Everything works as it should exepct that the seconds part of a datetime column is missing when the code is run.The odd thing about this is that the seconds part appears when i execute the query in query builder.[code]

i'm developing a server application using vb.net and i'm facing a problem. in fact i have a huge data to send to the client via the socket so i use a loop to divide the data and send each part the problem is that when i proceed with the sending the socket send me only few peaces of the data and loose a big part of it. i tried to flush the buffer after each sending but i didn't find how to do it so i used a system.threading. thread sleep between each socket send. it works when i don't have huge data but it blocks my server when the number of packets increases. is there a solution that would replace the. sleep one without blocking the application?

i made a tcp/ip application using the .NET TcpListener class, my problem is that sometimes (about 30 / 4000) the connection between the client and the server got interrupted in the middle and the server response to the client is lost.is there a way to know if the server response was successfully sent to the client without the client response back?
