The first function I am coding is for a pick 3 lottery game.The function should return three random numbers between 1 and 9. I have coded the function but it only returns one number. When the debugger runs it says my function does not return a value on all codepaths.

View 7 RepliesIn this application I need to allow users to enter a month as integer (1-12) then use integer tryparse to validate that input, that seems to be the easy part. I need two create two functions, one that returns the name of the month and the other returns the number of days in that month. The arrays are supposed to be defined and initialized within the function so that the main program can take the user input and call the two functions, then return the appropriate values as output to labels. I am not sure how to declare the arrays in their appropriate functions and then how to call those functions to retrieve the right value from the function.

Now the problem I am having is that although my random number generator is generating the right numbers (confirmed by checking the txtLastRoll textbox), when I add it to txtTotal, it seems to be getting another number from somewhere and adding that to my random number then adding it to the total and I have no idea how this is possible! txtTotal always starts as 0 but txt1 is not showing that. Normally I would just set txtTotal to 0 there but if I do that, I won't be able to add the numbers together. I've tried finding a pattern in the mystery numbers appearing in txtTotal but they just seem to be random.
How could I limit the random number range? For instance, limiting the number within the range of 1-100.

The object of this project is to write a computer program that will allow the computer to guess a number that you have selected. The computer will make a guess and you, the player, will tell the computer if it guessed too high, too low, or that it guessed the number.The program will also allow the player to start a new game or to exit the program. The problem i ran into is that if for example a user has a number 24, when the program makes an initial guess of 50,i want to be able to click low, and the program should generate a lower number say example 22. If i then click higher as my actual number uis 24, the program should not shoot higher than a number it has previously guess incorrect (in this case 50) it should guess anywhere from 22 - 49 and in turn limit the range of the next consecutive guesses it till hits the right number. My code right is guessing as it shuold but not within the limited ranges.

I have a need to verify SSN's that are entered based on a reserved range (these are used for advertising and will never become valid). The input is from a masked text box formatted as 000-00-0000. I may be wrong, but I figured the most logical method would be to remove the hyphens and convert the string to an integer, then compare the starting point and end point of the range.

[code]If I wanted to get Part Name for multiple PartIDs from OrderDetails, how would I go about doing this? Would I use two DataTables? I'm confused as I cannot see an efficient way to do this. The only thing that I can think of is to create a DataTable with SQL:[code]and then maybe use a For loop to take each PartID, create another DataTable to find the PartName for that and then give this to a variable.
