I am using datagrid to show my products. The products have a image and I should show it. Problem is, datagrid is only text and there was some reference on creating custom columns but I still dont quite understand (Mostly are custom url columns).
i created a drawing apllication in my solution by this code.by this i can draw images in a picturebox and can to save. when i click the clearbutton the image on the picturebox is cleared but the problem is after clearing the image i can't draw any thing in the picturebox without the form's reload
Ok well im making a game maker =) but there are some problems that need to be fixed =(. Ok well the first one is bitmap, It takes up to make space and it has a size limit. Is there something like bitmap that will let me draw images onto a picturebox or something like that with unlimeted space and it deos not to up much memory space? cause there are some game makers with huge maps and they used visual c++ but how i dont know
I came across this great article on creating a custom datagridview column which creates a graph-like effect in the cells of a custom datagridview column:[URL]..Does anyone know how you would edit this to format the number in the cell as a percentage? And does anyone know how you would set this up to take 0 values which do not create any graph effects at all.I have been trying to do this but keep getting errors.
Is it possible to make a simple Image Editor were you can draw and edit images in vb.net? If so how would you do that? (Its would also have to compile the image as well into an image format)
Not a single site anywhere, and I have even tried the MSDN, that details in any specific language how to draw a custom icon into a tooltip.
I have tried using every format of image I can produce, including (but not limited to) ICO, PNG, GIF, BMP, JPG etc... But every time, the app debugger clouts me round the head in defiance.. Windows Vista CAN do it.. and as in the image above.. StarDock figured it out..
I know your policy is to have the askee produce their code first, but the thing for me is
Also, I wonder if it would not be possible to take the code that does do the whole shabang, and compile it into a DLL or something that I can just embed for future projects - again this can be uploaded for others to refer to.
I want to create a custom, good looking, marquee progressbar for my splash screen. I found a good desgin and i am trying to duplicate it, but i am not very good with System.Drawing. I would like to create the following progressbar[url]...
I have made a custom control and the only change to the interface is that its a different color. Whenever the user moves their mouse over the control some white text fades in in the middle of the user control. Then after a few seconds the text fades out. The text is actually the location of the cursor but I have that figured out.
I set my FormBorderStyle of my form to none. This is exactly what i want, except I ran into a problem. When the background is gray (background of other applications running in the background), my form tends to fade in with the background (Still active, but i cant see where my form starts or ends).
I found this question on StackOverflow. Basically, the user wanted to draw custom buttons on the titlebar. I tried the code and realised it works in vista/7 only when Aero is disabled. My question is, is there any way to draw custom buttons on the titlebar while aero is enabled? Any way of reading information from the current theme so I can style my buttons to match the already existing ones.
Here is a screenshot from my computer demonstrating the above concept. I got the additional titlebar buttons after installing DisplayFusion. And I know DisplayFusion is a .NET program because it opens in .NET Reflector. The down side is that the program is obfuscated. Not like I wanted to decompile the program or anything; I just want to add a button to my titlebar to do something else (like minimise to the system tray for instance). Below is the screenshot, proving the program is a .NET app.
I have created a custom ToolStripProgressBar. It is basically a class inherited from ToolStripStatusLabel, and i paint the 'progress' bar myself (just a simple rectangle). I have tried creating a custom ToolStripProgressBar using different methods including inheriting from both ProgressBar, ToolStripProgressBar and ToolStripControlHost. I always ran into difficulties doing in this way. Inheriting from ToolStripStatusLabel works well, but with one issue...
In order to have the progress bar update in the statusbar, i have to call StatusStrip.Refresh. Trouble is, adds a huge overhead to the drawing of the progress bar graphics. Simply calling the invalidate method of my ToolStripStatusLabel does not seem to render anything to the screen. how to have my graphics draw without calling the refresh method?
I have a DataGridview. The user has to pick an option in the datagridview. I am contemplating either putting a context menu in the DGV. I am assuming that I will fire my context menu on the Cell Enter event. However prior to that I need to draw the users attention to the column of interest.
I know I can hide all other columns but his is not userful as they need to be visible. I am also assuming that I can highlight the column in the form load event. Or I could use some sort of Call Out box in the form load event that draws the user to the column. Can you create a call out box from a context menu?
I'm saving a bitmap as a jpeg using: savedImage.Save(fileName, System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Jpeg) which is resulting in a JPEG with a 96dpi x 96dpi resolution and a 24-bit color depth. Is there a way in VB .NET 1.1 to change this to say a 72 x 72 dpi resolution and a 16-bit color depth?
i'm working on a project right now and I need to create a graphic library. The game I'm experimenting with is an RPG; this project is expected to contain many big graphic files to use and I would prefer not to load everything into memory at once, like I've done before with other smaller projects. So, does anyone have experience with libraries such as this one? Here's what I've came up with:
Have graphic library files and paths in an XML file Each entry in the XML file would be designated "PERMANENT" or "TEMPORARY", with perm. being that once loaded it stays in memory and won't be cleared (like menu-graphics)The library that the XML file loads into would have a CLEAR command, that clears out all non-PERMANENT graphics I have experience throwing everything into memory at startup, and with running the program running with the assumption that all necessary graphics are currently in memory.
I'm in need of a custom control that will allow me to do something like the attached image. It's basically a TreeView with the exception of having a row of PictureBoxes for each child node. I'd be happy with a ListView that could do this even. I tried it briefly with a DataGridView with ImageColumns but the "look" wasn't quite what I was after. I'd like the "Parent Node" text to be situated above the row of images and just can't seem to find a control that will allow this.
i am using (i am obligated to use) npgsql driver to insert images on bytea column in postgresql db using vb.net code.after inserting the first one successfully, i try to insert the second one it finished that i have inserted the first one again, it continues until i have reset the iis.
Dim cnnstr As String cnnstr = System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings.Item("DMS_ConnectionString").ConnectionString Dim conn As NpgsqlConnection = New NpgsqlConnection(cnnstr) conn.Open()
I have a ListView that I am using to display specific data. In most of the columns, I have images that represent supported types. When I add these images and build the project, they go away.It worked for a few weeks until they suddenly disappeared.
i am new to VB.NET and am creating an application for twitter, my problem is that i have a datagrid on my form. On my code i have created a dataTable to store the user messages in one column and the usernames in the other column. My problem is that i cannot add a third column to the dataTable to store the user images, how do i do this? my sample code is as below :
I'm trying to create a custom DataGridViewColumn and DataGridViewCell, and have found this article to be a great resource. I'm done creating the DataGridViewColumn class and the DataGridViewCell class, however, when I try to edit the type of the column, my new custom classes don't show up as one of the options. My DataGridViewScheduleColumn inherits DataGridViewColumn, so I'm not too sure what I'm doing wrong. Is there anything else I need to do to expose these classes to the IDE?[code]...
how to add custom column to aspxgridview column using looping to get name and value of column.
here is my code behind :
Protected Sub gridSubmission_Init(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles gridSubmission.Init Dim colBaru As GridViewDataTextColumn = New GridViewDataTextColumn() For i As Integer = 1 To 6
[code]....
which i used to add new column at aspxgridview.but its getting an error, "An item with the same key has already been added."second question, what property which i must use to put that code? I wanted load that code after page.load ! if i put in aspxgridview.init its was loaded before page.load.and the output it must like this :
I believe that my questions are all going to revolve around the internal workings of DataGridView. While this is specifically written in VB.Net, it is definitely a general Visual Studio object question generically related to anyone working with .Net.I've been trying to find a forum where I can get some interaction and help to move forward.Microsoft's websites seem to be all questions and no answers.
I'm using VB.Net under Visual Studio 2005 SP2.I need to have a DataColumn that is dynamically visible based on other data in the same DataRow.After a lot of unsuccessful testing with various methods of accomplishing this, I came across the concept of Custom Cells/Columns.I started with several slightly varying examples and everything seemed to be falling into place. I tried to research each property and attribute as I incrementally learned a lot about the internal workings of Windows controls in general and DataGridView in particular.
The confusing symptom is that as I scroll down through the grid, the painting of the custom cells is at best unreliable.I created a minimum test case to eliminate as many variables as possible and I combined all of the source into one Form1.vb as follows:
I support a .Net 2.0 Windows application that has a custom listview control to allow for greater flexibility. I am not allowed to bring this to a newer version of the gramework until next year. We are moving from XP to Windows 7, and we have identified an issue with how the column sort image (up/down arrow) is drawn to the listview. Currently in XP, the image is drawn to the right of the column's text. However, in Windows 7, I am getting Access Violation Exceptions. Now, I know that the error is with the improper handling of memory using the unmanaged code as shown below. I am looking for a method to mimic what we have below in a safe manner using managed code.
I've used the following code, taken from here, to create my own custom column for datagridview, so that I can now have images and text in the same cell:
[Code]...
It works very well, except that the image that I use is right at the edges of the cell. I'd like to give it a small margin. How can I do this?
