When I am building my web-poject it is successful and giving no error but when I check the Error list too many errors are showing. One more thing that when I am taking even empty events the error increases

So when i build or click debug on my program. No errors come up and its smooth. So i decide to publish my programme. However. I come up with a bunch of errors during the publishing.
Here they are:Error 1 Cannot publish because a project failed to build. 1 1 Simple CALC

How can I recover my last succesful build.When debugging the last build will run but I cannot edit anything due to errors in the current code.Does anyone know.Oh I am using VB.net 2008.

View 2 RepliesI have a VB.net Solution in VS 2008 with 2 projects in it (The machine is running Windows XP Professional). I can build the one project fine. The other one the build keeps failing. Their are no errors in the code. I don't get any message when the build fail except, VS ask me if i want to run the last successful build. I have tryed cleaning the solution and then building and rebuilding it.

View 2 RepliesAfter adding a string to the program from the resources the build always fails, and removing the string and the code to load the string does not solve the problem, as the build still fails. We've been using multiple versions of the program since this started happening with the most updated one, and adding the string is what started the failure in building even though we added other elements (like an exit button) and other forms without it failing. With the one that started with the build failures we've tried it on all types of computers and it does not manage to build on any of them, even one's with a new installation of Visual Basic Express 2010.
The exact line added that apparently makes the build fail is:

I have an VB ASP.NET (.aspx) file that has deeply nested logic and I'm getting lots of build errors like "If must end with a matching End If" and "Do must end with a matching Loop". How do I begin to debug this beast to at least get it to build?

I don't know what the problem is but, whenever I run the program, I get a message that reads this: "There were several build errors. Would you like to continue and run the last successful build?"

View 5 RepliesThe code i have so far inputs the users username and pas that they inputted into 2 textboxes. Next the user hits login and it submits the info. Here is where i have a problem. Some users are already logged in when they get to the site, this is a problem because i need to make sure they are logging in correctly. Here comes another problem, lets say they log in correctly, how can i know that the login was successful?
Simplified:
1) How can i find out if the user is already logged in so i can log them out.
2) If they are not logged in, and they log in successfully. how can i confirm that?
If there is any other way to login without web browsers?

View 11 RepliesI've been at this for a bit now, and I have tried using google extensively. I have my application set up: it is a HWID System available only to paid subscribers. I want buyers to be able to click on a 'buy now button', and once they successfully pay it automatically adds their information into the database the app uses. This way there is no waiting after payments. I know this is possible, because I've seen it done before - I just can't seem to find how it works?
View 1 RepliesI have a sub that I just discovered does not work for my windows 7 users but works fine for my windows XP users. This is basically a sub for a ping monitor to ping devices on a timer. What happens is that when the windows 7 user tries to ping, it always reports "down" on a windows 7 whether actually up or down. But, windows xp will report correctly with "up". 3 different windows 7 boxes, users say it worked before. Can't quite debug correctly as i'm on xp myself and it works just fine. Also, I haven't changed anything in the code in quite awhile and this is a recent bug that just started.

I have a .net application that uses customerrors web.config module to display meaningful messages for errors. It works without any issues for 500 errors/exceptions caused by non-ajax and ajax components (updatepanel). However, in a scenario where updatepanel's asynchronous request times out, there is no error raised at all. I was able to see the timeout in firebug and come up with a solution that would at least display the error message as an alert and then redirect the user to the 500 error page using javascript but it's not quite doing what the rest of the application does in case of an unhandled errors like these. I basically just want everything to go through "LogEvent" mechanism so based on the severity of the error, it does the necessary work.This 500 error page doesn't have anything in the Server.GetLastError() for these timeout scenarios. Is this an expected behaviour? Can it be changed so I do have access to these timeouts in Server.GetLastError() OR maybe just run this error through "LogEvent" mechanism? Is there a better/more graceful way to handle this issue?

It's playing in the background since the Form is hidden. When I play itin Debug, everything works fine. When I run the app outside Debug, I get this error: [URL] The Music File is there, but strangely, there comes this weird error.
A particular VB.NET project is actually throwing 'Build Failed' But when I try rebuilding again it says 'Rebuild Succeeded'. It keeps alternating this behavior. Kind of random. Any vbc.exe issue of long locking the PDB or xml files?

View 2 RepliesI am using 2008 Express Edition. I am trying to make a Release build instead of a Debug build.Under Tools->Options, Projects and Solutions->General - I checked Show advanced build configurations. The option to switch configurations does not show up in the IDE.
After this, I went to the Project Properties->Compile and switched the Configuration from Active(Debug) to Release.After building, I looked in my project directory, however only in the Debug sub-directory was the .exe and nothing in the Release sub-directory.I have used Visual C++ Express Edition, where I noticed that if you do not change to Release in the IDE than after changing to Release in properties, resets the project to the last configuration setting which is usually Debug.how to make the Debug/Release box available in the IDE, since Tools/Options does not make it show up?
