View 2 RepliesI'm looking for some simple code that lets me create a Microsoft Access table via code.Currently all I do in Access is write and retrieve data from specific tables but now I want to be able to create them at runtime. Here is an example of the code I use to load some data just so you can get a feel of what I'm currently doing. Hopefully there is an easy way using the same rough way that I'm currently dealing with databases.
Code:
Public Sub LoadCareer()
Public rs As New ADO
[code]....
I'm getting this error 'column' argument cannot be null. Parameter name: column at the bold character instruction. Also I would like to know how to relate two tables with two key columns in each table
Dim connection As New OleDb.OleDbConnection(strTextoConn)
Dim EnPartesdataSet As DataSet = New DataSet("Enpartes")
Dim strsql As String
[Code].....
I want to Create a Publick Function But Geting problems with last Line
"MyBase.OnKeyUp(e)"
Private Sub _KeyDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs)
Dim dg As DataGridView
Dim txt As TextBox

My boss has asked me to set up DotNetNuke's Survey Module and make a few custom changes to it for a client. But I'm having trouble just getting the bare-bones code to run properly!Downloaded both the source & install folders from [URL] Created a new VB Web Application Project Took out all the default pages Copied the Survey source code into the VB Web Application Project in exactly the same structure Made a batch script that creates an installation folder identical to DNN's install folder (double-checked by running a folder-diff on it, and all files/folders were identical) Zipped up my installation folder using 7-zip The source code compiles perfectly. But even though the files/folders are identical, DNN's zipped package will work properly on my DNN site, and my own zipped package will fail with this famous error message:
Error: Survey is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.Modules.Survey.survey'. --->

View 5 RepliesWhat is neater / better in your opinion? Inheriting a Class with useful methods or a creating a module?
For example:
vb Module Tools_Module
Public Sub Print(ByRef text As String)
Console.WriteLine(text)
End Sub
End Module

How to add Module to Form in VB 2005?
View 2 RepliesI am trying to figure out how to print from a module. I am trying to print some data from a database. I just want to pass the record id to a sub in the module, and have it print.
View 3 RepliesI've inherited some code that has a Public Module for data access:
[Code]...
And all the pages call GetDataSet(sql). Am I correct is assuming that this is a bad idea? Worst case is that concurrent callers could get each others data?
I have just one form which is my project however there is a lot of different code behind it, can I add a class or module to it as another resource and call a script from there like I would in say
Private Sub button1_Click ... Handles Button1.Click
Call MyScriptToWorkThingsOutAndGetRemoteXMLWebPage
End Sub
I have a number of usercontrols that have the same combo boxes on which need to be built each time the form is opened. Instead of putting the code on each form, I have written a generic module which builds the combo box. At the moment, when the uc is loaded, a global variabl is set to the uc's name and the code for combo box in the module looks like this (it's not the complete module, just a snippet of the problem area):

I am trying to setup a public sub that allows me to customize the look of all forms when they load up. Only thing is, I am now trying to gradient a form and I am getting an error message as follows:
Quote: bounds is not a member of system.windows.form.painteventargs
The next post is my module code and this is how I am calling it
vb
Private Sub frmChangePassword_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
'add some text to the title bar
[Code]......
How do I do something like this.[code]...
This is inside the Module separate from Form1 class as you can see right off the bat it's not a class and there is no reference to Form1.. how do I access Form1 without passing reference to make factory modules work like this.
I created a module procedure in a access database, but I am having trouble trying to execute it in VB. I thought perhaps I should create a similar module in VB, but that didn't workThen I tried a few obj codes, but hitting a brick wall left and right. Should I create a new class? or is there some other way?
View 1 RepliesI tried to access a variable using a module with this code:
Module DataModule
Public x As Integer = form1.trackbar.value
nd Module
I have a form called form1 which has a thread that runs a sub from a module.[code]...
Well from the module, there's a part where I have to update controls on the form1. Whenever I try doing it, it updates the value, but not the design. For example I write a delegate which makes label1.text = "111", while debugging, label1.text becomes 111, but it does not show it updated on the form design, it just stays at its default value.
How can you save a user input string to a resource? I want the user name that the user enters to be saved to a resource so that another form can use it. Or if using a module would work better, how would I do that?
View 3 RepliesI'm at a complete loss here, its probably me being stupid and missing something simple but i don't appear to be able to update a testbox (CreditInfo) on Form1 from a module (SerialData). It doesn't give any errors, it just doesn't work. If i put a Button on Form1 to update the testbox(CreditInfo) it works... however i need it to be automatic.. Dave

I have a dynamically created CheckBoxList in a DotNetNuke module I'm building. When DNN creates the page, it prepends the control name with the moduleID and moduleName.
So, when I have "AddLicenseCheckBoxList" on the page, it becomes:
"dnn_ctr949_addRateGroup_AddLicenseCheckBoxList" depending on what the ModuleID and page name is (in this instance it's 949 and addRateGroup respectively). Now, I don't know what the name of the page or moduleID will be when this module is finished, so I need to make sure I am accessing the control my whateer name DNN gives it, and getElementById or getElementByName do not work even when using '<%= %>'.
So what I need to do is use Javascript or some VB to retrieve the checked values of the dynamically created CheckBoxList so that I can run an update on the database with those selected values. [code]...
I am trying to access a browser control in one of my forms from a module but keep getting an error. I attached a screen capture showing the code and the error balloon. The subroutine is public, and I am addressing the browser correctly. If I copy that same code into the "Main" form, and it works perfectly.

I've got a console app with a sub main then i have a seperate class inside the module..i can't seem to update the public global variable from inside the class as i can't declare the variable as shared...
View 6 RepliesI was a vb6 user, done a few projects only with forums Now i am moving to vb.net(vb2010) and i have some trouble.Lets say we have a form(form1), a module(mod1) and a textbox on the form1.

View 1 RepliesI have a program in VB.NET 2005. At some point I have to open an Access2003-Application for getting data in it. I do that by pretending my program is a human user and let it do all the work in Access as a human user would do. Filling Fields, pressing buttons etc. I use the Primary Interop Assemblies for that. So far so good. That code is in use for over half a year now. In the last week I got Office 2007 installed on my machine. Of course I tested the installed version of my program if everthing still works. Every test was succesfull. But if I do the same tests in Visual Studio it always crashes.
All I get is this Errormessage: {"Das COM-Objekt des Typs "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.FormClass" kann nicht in den Schnittstellentyp "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access._Form3" umgewandelt werden. Dieser Vorgang konnte nicht durchgefhrt werden, da der QueryInterface-Aufruf an die COM-Komponente fr die Schnittstelle mit der IID "{66B22FB4-F70E-4F03-A00A-F76E9ADBBF10}" aufgrund des folgenden Fehlers nicht durchgefhrt werden konnte: Schnittstelle nicht untersttzt (Ausnahme von HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE))."}
For all who can't read german:
"Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.FormClass" can't be converted in to "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access._Form3" ... Interface is not supported.
Code I use:
Dim access As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.Application = Nothing
.
.
.
access = New Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.Application()
[CODE]...
The Error occurs when I try to access any property of "access.Forms("frmTest")"
