VS 2008 - Adding Style Properties To Excel Column

Apr 6, 2011

I am trying to add some style properties to a column but the code I am currently using doesnt seem to work at all?
Dim oApp As New Excel.Application
Dim oWB As Excel.Workbook = oApp.Workbooks.Add()
Dim oWS As Excel.Worksheet = CType(oWB.Worksheets(1), Excel.Worksheet)
Dim style As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Style
style = oWB.Styles.Add("Style1")
[Code] .....
It's still the same as "default" would look when just opening up excel for the first time.

VS 2008 - Taking Column And Adding Input Elsewhere

Nov 15, 2009

I am working on a program where the user inputs values, then the program calculates those values and outputs the sum. When the user hits the button exit then those values entered by the user are saved. When the user starts the program again, the values are still there. I wrote the code and everything works fine. I am saving those values in notepad... and the program grabs the input in notepad and outputs those values to the program. But here comes the problem: Lets say the user wants the information in a certain column to be added to another column somewhere in the program. Is that possible ? And if it is can it be done when I am saving those values in notepad?

VS 2008 Dynamically Creating And Adding A ComboBox To A Specified Column In DGV?

Mar 19, 2012

I am dynamically creating and adding a ComboBox to a specified column in DGV. I also set a DataSource, DisplayMember and ValueMember for the created ComboBox. Somewhere else in my program, I select a number ( let's say 5 ) and based on that number I want to change the SelectedIndex of the current ComboBoxColumn ( I actually loop through the Columns collection ).I tried something like this in a event handler I created:

vb.net
Private Sub combobox_validated(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
Dim combobox As System.Windows.Forms.ComboBox = sender
Dim colIndex As Integer = combobox.Tag

[code]....

You will notice here, that I'm not actually trying to change the .SelectedIndex property, but the Value of the current cell.How do I reference the actual ComboBox?

VS 2008 : Adding Excel Library Reference Is Not Working?

Sep 20, 2009

I'm a VBA programmer and can do Office integration in Office applications.I'm programming in VB in VSTS 2008 and following these steps to create an Excell application at runtime: [URL] but it is not working.The issue I'm having is when I add the reference, the library is not recognized by VBE intellisense and compiler, so: the code doesn't run.When I use late binding technique and declare variables as objects, the code runs OK, but I don't want that way.I tried adding the references in two different ways:

1 - Menu Project / Add Reference / tab COM / Microsoft Excel 11.0 Object Library / OK

2 - Menu Project / VB Properties / References / Add / Microsoft Excel 11.0 Object Library

Both methods didn't work.

Definig DataGridView Column Headers Font Style At Design Time

Jul 11, 2010

I am developing a project using VB2010. In the attached example I created a Form.

On tha form I put a GroupBox Containing a DataGridView.

I am trying to set, at Design time, the ColumnHeadersDefaultCellstyle Font of the grid, defining the Font, the size and the style (Bold). After saving the project or running it, The Font properties of the grid headers are changed to the Font properties of the containing

GroupBox.

Why is that so? How can I set, at Design Time, a different font for the Grid Column headers and the GroupBox?

To demostrate the problm - Try to modify the Font of the grid headers, in the attached example,

to "Bold" "Size 12", Run the application and see the result.

Using Excel Style Pivot Table On DataSet In Form

Aug 23, 2011

I have three tables, the extremely simplified versions of which are:

Practitioners:
practitioner_id :: int
name :: nvarchar

Insurances:
insurance_id :: int
name :: nvarchar

InsuranceLink:
practitioner_id :: int
insurance_id :: int

So, the practitioner table contains a list of practitioners, the insurance table contains a list of insurances, and the link table represents which practitioner supports which insurance. Now, I need to create a view which can display the information like this:

ViewTable:
practitioner_id :: int
practitioner_name :: nvarchar
insurance_1 :: bit
insurance_2 :: bit
.....
insurance_100 :: bit

In other words, the columns in the view are the ID and name of the practitioner, and every insurance that exists in Insurances (with the insurance name as the column name (there is an enforced condition that insurance names are unique)). The cells in the insurance columns will indicate if that practitioner supports that insurance. Or better yet, is it possible to use an excel-style pivot table on a DataSet in a VB.NET form?

Database - Adding A Row To A Table From The Properties Of A Class?

Mar 2, 2012

I have a class that represents the table of a db-row. Its properties are the columns of the table. I add a new row to the table with the following code:

Public Sub AddRow(oTestRow As TestRow)
Dim sql As String
With oTestRow

[Code]....

That is just an example, but my classes have around 30-40 properties and this brings a very large and complex sql string. Creating, editing or maintaining these sql strings for many classes could generate errors. I am wondering if any compact way or method exists in order to add the whole object's istance (the properties of course) to the table "TestTable" without writing such a large sql string. I created the TestRow in the way that its properties are exactly the columns of the table "TestTable" (with the same name). But I did not found in the ADO.NET anything that could be used.

Enum Inside Structure - Adding Properties?

May 19, 2009

I have an enum that I want to give some methods. I thought about changing the enum to a structure so I could add properties, but then the enum is a value inside the structure (not the structure itself), so this would affect comparisons and such. (For example, instead of writing
EnumVariable=EnumConstant,
Now it is
StructureVariable.EnumValue=EnumConstant).
At least, this is my understanding of it. It seems awkward to have to do this for such a simple scenario, so is it possible give enums properties, yet still have them treated as before? I've thought maybe I need to create a new valuetype from scratch, but I've never done that before.

If i go back in the code to where i instantiate the custom datacolumn i can see the properties here, but not after its added to the datatable.
