Nov 17, 2011
I want to make it so when cancel is used it exits the loop but I need the Input as a decimal.
Do
txtItems.Text = intCounter.ToString
intCounter = intCounter + 1
msgInput = CDec(InputBox("Enter Item Price", "Item Price", ""))
decSubTotal = msgInput + decSubTotal
txtItemPrice.Text = msgInput.ToString("C2")
[Code] .....
How do I exit from the recursive loop from the code below. I would like to notify the end-user to select a checkbox in a msgBox before I exit the loop.
I have a drink program with 4 staff members and want to know how to cancel the input box if they accidently click on another persons login. can you close the input box by clicking can and to close the loop. All Logins have the same code just different names
'Marys Login Button Private Sub btnMary_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnMary.Click Dim counter As Integer = 0 ' Reserve Counter as integer in memory and assign a value to it

If Not IsNumeric(textbox1.Text) Then KeyAscii = 0 End If I learned in MSDN and wrote those code,but it doesn't work. This code " KeyAscii = 0" it's not correct, I just want to cancel the input, for instance,if user input 1a, then "a" will be not inputted into textbox, but "1" will leave.

If you click on the backup button in my program, it starts to copy files from source to destination using a For loop.I can't cancel this For loop and I can't click on anything else in the window, because it won't respond untill the for loop completes.How can I let the program check if the Cancel button is pressed during the For loop and if pressed exit the loop?[code]...
Is there a way to repeat two popup input boxes (in succession) until the user presses cancel? Dim hours As Integer Dim letterGrade As String Do hours = InputBox("Total credit hours", "Total credit hours", ) letterGrade = InputBox("Letter Grade", "Letter Grade", ) Loop The input boxes continue to repeat but when I hit cancel nothing happens... I'm sure I'm missing something to tell it when I cancel to go back to the MainForm I just don't know what it is.....
The following code works fine, however if the user wants to cancel out from the openfiledialog they cant they are stuck in a loop. A loop I created in case they selected the wrong type of data file they could choose again. [Code]. I really need some help seeing where and how to let the user cancel out without the program continuing. I tried some dialog.dispose code but everywhere i seem to put it it generates an error somewhere.
I have an asynchronous task that is executing a function. The function does not contains any looping statements, but instead it is executing series of sql commands on sql server. Now, i have a button on my window that can cancel these sql operations. In other words, cancel the whole asynchronous task.
I know that this technique will require CancellationTokenSource and CancellationToken to cancel the task, but i've seen many examples on the internet and all of them are showing that the function that task is executing contains loop statements in which they are checking for IsCancellationRequested boolean property. But in my case, it is not so. My function does not have any loop statements in which i can do a check on this boolean property.
I want to allow the user to exit out of a find - replace operation, but I also need to block input during the operation, so I was using this Declare Function BlockInput Lib "User32" (ByVal fBlockIt As Boolean) As Boolean Private Declare Function GetInputState Lib "user32" () As Int32
Option Strict On Public Class Form1 Private Sub btnDistance_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnDistance.Click 'The btnEnterSpeed click event accepts and displays up to ten speeds from the user'and then calculates and displays average speed

I cannot figure out how to incorporate the number of days into the input box then get it to loop and count the number of times the User inputs in the number of days. Then I have to incorporate it into the equation to get the total distance D = MPH * Hours. What I have right now wil not count up the number of days and locks up after I input one number and will not add anything to the listbox. Because I also have to make sure that they cant add nonnumaric values and the number of hours per day cannot exceed 20. I have put things in and taken them out but it has been 2 days and I am lost now

I am doing form validation in VB, I validate the text field data by using txtName_LostFocus function, and on wrong input I used txtName.Focus(). It works well for me. But problem is that as for as, user does not input valid text, my EXIT button also does not works.
I have a form with a textbox on it. Validation occurs on the leave event. If validation fails, the focus is set into the textbox, making it impossible to click outside it unless there is a valid value entered. A valid value is anything from 15.00 to 99.99 inclusive, always with two decimal places.What code will return a boolean answer that checks if the input is valid?
I found a function that validates the numberic and decimal input for a textbox and works exactly like I want. But it does not let me limit how many numbers after the decimal. how to do this in the same function?
I am new to vb and need some help with this change program. The idea is that we are given a certain amoun of change and then telling how many dollars, quarters, dimes, nickles and pennies. I thought I would convert the decimal to an integer and then use a while loop for every text box, i.e. dollars, quarters, dimes, etc.., to show how many of each, but the while loop is confusing for me in vb, but to tell you the truth I don't know if I am on the right track,
I wrote a loop that posted an accrued principal cycle to a listbox for a period of 10 years (10 loop cycles). The problem is: not only does the amount of the principal reconfigure for each loop cycle, but it does not truncate into a two decimal place holder as it should. I would like to use the ("F2") but I am not sure where to put it within the code. Here is what I have for the Calculate button event handler.
I validate a DataGridView with the CellValidating-eventhandler.That works fine. However, I want to avoid validating when the user presses the Cancel button. In the sequence validation occurs before the event CancelButton.Clicked.
Private Sub btnVE_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnVE.Click Dim Displacment As Single Dim RPM As Single txtDisplacment.Text = Displacment txtRPM.Text = RPM Do Until "N" Or "n" Loop End Sub
That is my code so far. I am confused on how to do a do until loop withna input box that will onyl have "N""n" or "Y""y" in it. The text for the input box is "Do you wish to continue?" Then you enter Y for example which then has to make the textboxs blank and put the focus on the first one and then repate the process until the user enters N.
