I am developing an app which allows a user to send emails.I am using a multiline text box for the user to capture data, but when I convert it to a string it does not pick up a new paragraph.How would I insert a <br> & </br> for a new line within a string variable?

My problem is that file: how can I insert that file into a particular string?

I need only part of the data, that comes after the new line i.e. "I have an issue with the application".
For this I am trying to search the position using InStr where the string has data in a new line. I tried many options, but they don't work.
I used "vbCrLf", Chr(13), "

How can I get the data I need?

I have a WinForms app with a multi-line textbox. This displays and retains (after loading from the DB) line break characters fine. However if I assign the TextBox.Text value to a string variable and then re-assign the variable back to the TextBox.Text property, the line break characters are lost and replaced with a square character (can't past them here as they just paste as a line break!)

As you can see its for a game (Cod4) I am making a rcon tool. It is all going well apart from splitting the string. What I need is putting the (num, GUID, Name and address) for each person (I am showing only one) into a DGV.

View 10 RepliesI have strMyString that contains about 5000 lines of data. There are some lines of data that need removing if they contain a certain string, such as "http", "www.", ".com", "cat", "fish", etc. The whole line needs removing. Each line is separated by a vbNewLine or similar.
How can I do that? Does it need pasting into a rich textbox first before processing?

i have write all this value in another text file by adding the title.in my original file's line i must check whether the line contain any MIL value if not, I must write first T1 the below T1 i must write all the line which not contain MIL value until i reach a line which Contain MIL value. If the line contain 39MIL the i must write first T5 then followed by all the line which contain 39MIL until it reach the line which contain another MIL value. Let say 50MIL. the i must write T7 then followed by all the line which contain 50MIL. I have several sets of similar objects (labels, progress bars) on a form in Visual Basic 2010 on Windows. In my code, I have collections that contain data, which needs to be pushed into the value/text property of each.
I would like to get a solution similar to PHP in that I can assign values somewhat like:
For ID as Integer from 0 to count(collectionExample)
lblExample{ID}.Text=collectionExample(variableID)
...and as such to loop through so each of the different lblExample's were updated to their corresponding value.
The issue I have come to is that I cannot seem to reference an object on the form using a variable. I have also tried using something like
CallByName("lblExample" + variableID, "Text", CallType.Set, exampleCollection(variableID))... however I still can't combine the string and variable to reference the object.
Any solutions on referring to objects in VB2010 by combining a string prefix and a variable string identifier, similar to PHP's $variable{$variable} approach?

1) A string with a value as a date, which would be "10 January, 2011" for example: strDate1 would have the value of "10 January, 2011"
2) A start time, for example: strStartTime1 would have the value of 9:45
3) An end time, for example strEndTime1 would have the value of 18:00
