We would like to know if there are any recommended tools in .NET that can scan through a VB .NET project & do an analysis. It should report on the Lines Of Code, provide no. of Routines, No. of 3rd party Tools, No. of Variables, Forms Diagrams, No. of Classes etc.
This program is being used to analyze an excel document with coordinates for a robot. The entire program works...My boss indicated he wanted me to throw an exception in whenever a coordinate that wasn't being given a tolerance wasn't supposed to move, he wanted the program to give an error message. Which I figured out and outputs a message box saying "Result Compare Fail!"
Now here is my dilemma..whenever I encounter a section in the excel sheet analyzing multiple variables, I still get the error message, because the program doesn't think of it as multiple variable coordinates changing. Is there an easy way to fix this? I'm stumped! This is one of the cases, but they are all very similar.
is there a way in vb.net to make it so that if the html in a web browser control contains a certain word then on startup it will show a dialog box. Basically I want to create an update system in which when the update dialog box web browser control html contains the words "update available" then on start up the dialog box will show prompting the user to update.
I'm trying to measure the performance of seven sorting algorithms in a single VB 2008 program. I've tried using a Timer componend, the Stopwatch, and DateTime.Ticks but nothing works. The following simple code produces a result of about 500 (milliseconds), which is correct, but when I change 500 to 1000, I get a ridiculous result like 0 or 8.
If I wanted to say, alter the code definition of the automatic property X (at runtime, perhaps in Sub New), such that I could throw the PropertyChanged event
When I scroll down to the function shown below, and right click Analogues - go to definition it takes me to the top of the file, and lands on top of the
I'm writing a simple program to "change" a login. I need to know how to create a variable that lasts past when the program is closed (so the changed login stays and is not reset). Here is my code:
I am using vb.net,is it possible to change the size or place of a button at run time.I meant we can click and drag the button to increase the size or move?
I have incredimail that was working fine but now I get a runtime error Program Cprogram files (X86) incredimailinin app.exe This application has requested the runtime to terminatet in an unusual way.
I have designed an application for a company which has 5 client computers that read and write data to an sql2008 instance on a server.I would like to know the way to detect a change in a table whithout having to refill the table adapter.Let's say that all the client applications have a datagridview on the main form which binds to a table on the database lets say Members table (members binding source)Whenever a client makes a change to that table (lets say that it updates the Last name of a member) i would like the rest of the clients to detect that update and as a result ,update the specific row or cell in the datagridview. Is there some kind of event that is raised?
My project is a server/client application, how do I copy existing panel with labels and pictureboxes to show stats of clients connected? I mean once the server accepts a client, stats of that client is shown on a new panel but has the same contents as the existing panel. Any Idea how to do this? I was thinking to make a set of panels and hide them if there's no client connecting but what if there are too many clients connecting more than the set of panels already made?
I've made a project with serveral forms and instances of classes. The program works fine until the last form close.2 messages were shown:1. The exception unknown software exception(0x0eedfade) occured in the application at location (?????????)2. Regular dialogue "Runtime error 217 at (????????)
I'm using .net 2008 Trying to create a small graphic component, I have a problem setting background both at design time and then runtime. I derived a panel like this
[code]...
But it isn't working! If I don't Overrides Property BackColor, this is working as expected but I really need to group in my custom tab.
I have created multiple dropdown list at runtime and populated with data. I also have added an eventhandler to determine the selected value of the drop down list.
The code is as follows : Dim tbl As New Table() tbl.EnableViewState = "true"
I have a Visual Basic 2005 program which runs fine if I execute the built Executable. However if I start the application in VS2005 debugger it gives a weird error
When I attempt to run a program I just finished coding I get the following message: "Error 1 Handles clause requires a WithEvents variable defined in the containing type or one of its base types." Looked it up online and still does not make sense to me. If I need to paste code or anything else let me know and I will do so ASAP.
I have some Python Scripts which I would like to use from my VB.NET class library however instead of increasing the amount of files that I distribute is it possible to embed the script into my project/dll in Visual Studio and then run the script from the dll during my program runtime?
I am running windows vista with 1gb memory and 2ghz proccessor. What would be the best FREE version of .NET to use for best performance? Its been years since I have done any PC programming and I would like to do a little bit =]
The upper picture is the output of a Unix task. The lower picture is what I have in VB. Enumerating tasks is not difficult however the rest it is because it's not documented anywhere.
What am I interested in if I want to get 64-bit performance data?
I'm working on a project that calls for high-performance networking with TLS encryption in VB.NET. The stock SSLStream sucks rotten eggs; its 'asynchronous' read/write operations aren't async at all, meaning that they'll operate parallel to each other and to the main thread but that it offers absolutely nothing that resembles async read/read and write/write, which means that reads are totally synchronous to each other and writes are too (only 1 read and only 1 write can be done at a time).
I've done a lot of reading on this failing and it seems like MS has no intention of ever fixing this.Hoping a whole lot not to have to write my own TLS implementation. I've tried the Mentalis open source SSL suite, which will NOT compile. I've tried SocketWrench tools which will not compile under VS 2010 (and whose documentation indicates it's in fact synchronous on its async threads too; can only do 1 async read and 1 async write at a time).
What I want/need is an SSL/TLS implementation that actually works with DotNET that actually allows me to do multiple asynch reads/writes over a TCP/IP transport stream. Anybody have any experience or recommendations on 3rd party toolkits or alternate methods of SSLStream I/O?
