I have three radiobuttons in a groupbox. When they are not bound to application settings, they behave normally.After binding each of their checked properties to application settings, the following happens: I have to click an uncheckedradiobutton two times to have it checked. After the first click, all three are unchecked.

To start with, I know that applications scope settings are read only, and user scope settings are read/write. My problem is this: I am creating an application which will be used in a setting where an "administrative" user (admin in this case does not denote any computer ability whatsoever- just the one in control of the computer) will be installing my application onto a computer where several users will likely use the application. I have a number of program settings which I would like the administrative user to be able to set, and have those settings be used for all users who run the program.

1) My program has 3 groupboxes each consisting 3 radiobuttons. Based on what is checked in the first box, and then what the user chooses in the second box, I either need to hide the 3 box and choose one option, or keep it showing for the user to select an option. The hiding is because based on the previous choices, there is only one option for the user in the 3rd box, and so I don't want to confuse the user nor waste their time. So I when the user selects radiobutton1, I need to hide groupbox3 and select radiobutton2.This is what I have previously attempted and it didn't work.

They either print a device or a message saying why the user doesn't get an output. At the end of the code, I need to scan through the strings until I get to a space and then store that as a string. How does one go about doing this?

View 3 RepliesI want to be able to control several groups of settings independently of each other. I'd originally used My.Settings, but it was too much work to manually rollback some settings whilst saving others.
I thought my solution was to use multiple settings files, and I've had moments where this seemed to work, but I whatever success I have had is periodic and temporary.
Currently I have two settings files in the root of the project; In code, I can access the settings OK, but in many cases I want to bind individual settings to controls. This should be straight-forward, and I recall it working when I used the single, built-in settings file.
However, when I use the two new settings files it doesn't work. In the Formatting & Advanced Binding dialog, I select Add New Project Data Source, I browse into my project, then into the root namespace, and then I see my forms/classes/settings files. When I select the two settings files, and click OK, the dialog is dismissed without me being able to select an individual setting to bind the control to.
When I enable Project > Show All Files, I can see that the binding has been created; I have two .datasource files under My Project > Datasources.
Is there some reason why I shouldn't be able to bind to these settings files? If not, why can I not access them the the data-binding dialogs?
Plan B is to create an object to act as an intermediary between the controls and the settings files, but I'd rather avoid this if I can.
I just wondered if you can or can't save arrays using the settings system object. There seems to be no way of entering it at designtime. It seems implied you cannot create new user settings.subobjects at runtime. I'm looking to find the easiest way to save a populated array of PictureBox's. If the only way is a self/custom made/managed .ini file then I need to know so i can start on that but I was hoping to use some of all this phaff in the new frameworks usefully.

The problem i have is that this tool will be used on different users computers and not just my own and at the moment when it is used on another computer it gives an error that it can'f find the image.

I setup my DataGridView (dgvWBFOrphans) with 5 TextBox columns that are Read-Only and 1 CheckBox column that is not Read-Only. I use a stored procedure and data reader to load the DataTable which is used as the DataSource for dgvWBFOrphans. I want all the checkboxes to default to True and allow the users to uncheck certain rows in the "Select" column.

i am having a problem with a calculator that i am making. i am using radio buttons as selectors for the operations (+-*/). i have two input-boxes. i want to do some error checking. for example if the user want to find the mod of a number, i want them to only use inputbox1 to enter the value. [Code] the problem is that when other radio buttons are clicked the effect doesn't change. how can i fix it so that other radio buttons don't have the same action. i am using visual studios 2008 professional.
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to save a collection of key/value settings in my application's "user settings" (they're column widths), but while I see no errors, when I run the code (in the IDE) my collection in "My.Settings" is always nothing at startup. I do a "My.Settings.Save" when the application exits, and barring the "serializers not found" errors in the IDE, no other errors occur. When I run my application as an exe, it behaves the same way..
