I'm loading custom listboxitems in to a listbox.But the problem is that i load over 300 items and it takes a while and the program stops responding.I've tried to load the items in a backgroundworker, but i didn't help.
Note: the Listbox is placed on a Page.
My problem concerns ListboxItems in WPF using VB.net. I have a window.Resources attached to a TargetType ListboxItem:

Which seemed the most logical thing to do, but that didn't work.. This problem has been my concern for over a few hours now and it's the first one that made me come to Dreamincode to ask for a subtle hint.
I am having a problem, which I did not have until recenty, adding personal macro buttons to the Quick Access Toolbar using Excel's Customize function. The macros, which I know are, enabled and executable, cannot be assigned to new buttons on the QAT. Actually, I can add macro buttons to a new workbook fine, but when I close, reopen the workbook, and try to add another personal macro button, they all disappear.
I set 'Show Add-in User Interface Errors' in the Advanced tab of Excel Options and get this error when I open a workbook with personal macro buttons added to the QAT[code]...
I deleted the macros and manually keyed some simple command (msgbox 1) into a new macro and still got this error message.
I set 'Show Add-In User Interface Errors' on a remote server (where I do not have this problem) and I do not get this error message when loading workbooks with customized QAT.
So I am nearning completion of my 7th major project And I need the application to load files into ram when the application starts..Almost like a splash screen but with a loading bar.I have to load over 90 JPG's And I would like to have them in RAM so the application isn't so slow at first IE System.Load(My.Resources.JPG1) And LoadingBar1.Value += 10 Etc, etc.I have a Form I have created as a splash screen..I need it to load all the JPGs before starting the application..

i'm working on a project right now and I need to create a graphic library.The game I'm experimenting with is an RPG; this project is expected to contain many big graphic files to use and I would prefer not to load everything into memory at once, like I've done before with other smaller projects.So, does anyone have experience with libraries such as this one? Here's what I've came up with:
Have graphic library files and paths in an XML file Each entry in the XML file would be designated "PERMANENT" or "TEMPORARY", with perm. being that once loaded it stays in memory and won't be cleared (like menu-graphics)The library that the XML file loads into would have a CLEAR command, that clears out all non-PERMANENT graphics I have experience throwing everything into memory at startup, and with running the program running with the assumption that all necessary graphics are currently in memory.

why my code doesn't work? I want the array elements to be loaded into a listbox when the button is clicked. Is it because not all elements in my array have been filled? I've tried putting the array declaration as a global variable and as a local one (below), but the same error occurs as soon as the button is clicked - "ArgumentNullException was unhandled".

Whatever is in the text file "stats" should be listed in listbox1 in the same order it is in the text file. The same with "items" in listbox2. And then "quests" will be in listbox3.
The problem is when i load it instead of what is in the text file it says...

I was wondering if you guys could help me. I have a web browser made, and now i'm working on coding my favourites system. It is working well, and adds the URL to My.Settings.FavList
My problem is once you've added a favourite then load up the favourites form, it appears. But if you don't add anything, and load up the form, nothing appears. Below I have attached my coding, I hope you guys will be able to help. Also i'm still learning VB, and almost all of this coding was done through me learning myself. I have a huge assignment tommorow in which i have to make a trivia game on visual basic. In this game you have to be able to make your own questions (modify/delete etc). Basically I have one form where you can add questions into one listbox and answers into another listbox. Now i have another form with the actual game board. I've got a Program and a text file, this text file gets load into the list box but that's not the problem. The problem is that when I make the text file it makes a open line and this line gets loaded into the list box and I don't want empty items.

I am trying to get that but when the value of the progress bar say something around 25 0r 40 it is stopping at that point but I need to show the progress bar until it completes the 100% and then populates the Image list.

My first thought was to do it with two for loops, just as I used to do in VB6, but I thought there must be a better way to do it. And there was. Sort of. The duplicates need to stay as they are in the text file. I just want the duplicates deleted from the listbox when viewed. How would I do that? Say there are two orders made by the same user. I only want the user to show up once in the listbox...
