Mar 29, 2012I recently upgraded my system to Windows 7 64bit and ever since then I have had nothing but issues with my code attempting to access an Oracle database. I was using msdaora for my connection string however that does not work in 64bit. I changed over to OraOLEDB.Oracle which everything I can find on Google says to use however it fails every time. I have installed Oracle 11g 2 times now and even tried reinstalling VB.net 2010 and still no luck.

IDE :: Failed To Retrieve Data From The Database, Database Vendor Code 9421?
Jan 17, 2011I have a report made in Crystal Reports XI. The report is generated and exported to PDF in visual basic script using COM interface. Generally everything is running smoothly, but in one case generation breaks with error: Failed to retrieve data from the database. Details: [Database Vendor Code 9421]
Database used is MSSQL 2005 connected over ODBC to CR XI. When I am opening report with exactly the same parameters in Designer, everything works fine.It looks like it is data related, but it is hard to trace since the whole report is pretty sophisticated. Anyway I spent half a day on crawling over Dr. Google and it seems that he has no clue what might be an issue.

Application Code Affecting Access Database Data?
Sep 21, 2010I have an application half built which accesses a Access (2003)Database File. From within the application I am able to change the data in the Access File using a Data Grid. The changes to the Data File are saved and can be recalled, changed or otherwisemanipulated however, when I add too or change any of the applicationcode the Access file reverts back to it's original state losing any data or changes that has been made.

VS 2010 - Database File Cannot Be Found After Adding UserControl

Thing is I never had a database at that location, my database is and has always been in MyDocuments in the Project folder itself. There is nothing anywhere in my code referring to that database! When I double click it I get sent to this line in the Designers window:

Even though I get this error I can still access my database, so basically it does absolutely nothing except drive me mad! So how do I fix this?

THis does it perfectly..... well it saves the car to the file, It not saving it in a logical order but thats another problem.BUT, when i close the form and restart, the form doesn't seem to want to know that it exisits.

The EntityDataSource points to the Users entity and has an Include="Roles" parameter.I've added a BoundField in the GridView that points to RoleName, a property of the entity Roles. However, when I execute the code I get the above error.I have used very similar code successfully in another application. Any ideas why this isn't working?
