I'm using VB (visual studio) 2008. I'm trying to search a microsoft word file and select/copy text from itWhat i want to doa. Search for a string/word in a text document(i.e "question)b. When its found copy of text from that point to a point further down the document defined by a certain string ("a.")c. after this is done it will continue to look for the next time the same string occurs (i.e. "question"") and continue as aboveThis is to search a question paper and separate the questions out and save it separately .

I am trying to copy the contents of a word document which is basically in a letter format.I am trying to copy it onto a rich text box editor...but when i copy it..i am losing all the formatting of the word document.This is the code i was using

I can search for the word Love in an .rtf file and return every occurance of the word into a RichTextBox. It returns the word and the scripture the word is in, but it also isreturning a bunch of weird text like: archan78988yykp etc etc. How do I onlyreturn the scripture with the searchedword, in this case the searched word is love. The code I am using is as follows:

The following code allows words to be added to a listbox. Add the word to a text file and create a folder with the word as its name. The second part undoes the actions.If I try to delete the word immediately after adding it one of two things happen.
1.An error is reported stating the path cannot be found. Although the listbox index value is correct according to the code the error is pointing at that index +1.
2.The code continues to the point of requesting conformation to delete the folder, still pointing at the index value +1. I the action is confirmed the wrong folder is deleted.
However if I stop debugging, then run the code again all works correctly.Is it likely to persist when the application is compiled?

I have 2 text files that are formatted in standard XML One of them contains some lines that need to be copied to the other. What i am trying to do is search through the first file until i see the string "<Segment" then copy all lines into a rich text box up until the string "<segment/>" I Then want to look through the other file until i find the string "<Jointfree/>" then copy the contents of the rich text box to underneath the Jointfree String I Also need to search the second file until i find the string "<Markers/>" and then paste some text into the line above the markers tag.

i have to develop a software for a recruiting firm.he has this unique requirement. he will import the word document received as attachment in outlook till here its fine...as there r many options to import the attachment and open a word doc. in vb. now the main prob is he wants to selet the text from the word document for eg. say he selects the first name of the applicant now he wants either of 2 options
1. either to drag that into the first name textbox or he right clicks after selecting the name and all the list of the textboxes that i give him like first name, middle name, last name, qualification come up in the menu and he selects where he wants to store it like he can choose the first name from that menu.

I have a label that is supposed to display a word for 5 seconds and then move down the list in a text file and display the next word.I'm oddly able to make it work in random mode, but not going down the list in order.. random would be ok if used words didn't come up again.

Im making a text based game that i need to randomly select different numbers of lines from a text file then pass them to a list box. The text file is made in the following format:

I have an application written in VB.net for batch print jobs. As part of the application, the user selects two printer trays to use to print the batch to (one plain paper the other coloured for coversheets and batch seperators) I had this working until we upgraded our systems from Windows XP with Office 2000 to Windows 7 and Office 2010. Now the selected trays are not being recognised and an error is thrown.
I've looked at similar posts on here and other forums but they seam to concentrate on using some word default trays (wdPrinterDefaultBin etc) however I need to be able to let the user pick whatever tray they wish to use. I don't want to have to go through every printer in the building and map the trays to the word values either as I don't want to rewrite the app everytime we've a new printer.

So I found some code that I am customizing for my needs. So far I get it to browse for a Word file, open that file, and create XML from that document - right now it maps word styles to tags. So, if I had the word "Test" in the document, and it was bold, the output would be <b>Test</b>. Does anyone know of a good function for finding key words in a Word Doc, and then putting that into a tag? I have a Comma Separated value file in .txt format... simply put, its a bunch of data delimited by commas and text qualifier is separated with ""For example:
"So and so","1234","Blah Blah", "Foo","Bar","","","",""
"foofoo","barbar","etc.."
Where ever there is a carriage return it signifies a new row and every comma separates a new column from another.My next step is to go into VB.net and create an array using these values and having the commas serve as the delimeter and somehow making the array into a table where the text files' format matches the array After that array has been created, I need to select only certain parts of that array and store the value into a variable for later use.... how to make the array and selecting the certain info out of it..
