I have a database table where the user marks files to be downloaded. Subsequently, I browse this table and need to create a fileList to pass to an ActiveX downloader. My routine works locally and on the server for ONLY the first file. I know my logic must be bad, but I cannot find it. All of these files are always in the same server directory which is as follows:

Basically this thing only looks for a registry key and if it doesn't find it, then it creates it. After that it populates a String value and exits. My issue is that when I provide this tool to our L2 support group they put it on an intranet portal.

.NET masters!Im working on a VB.net file management program that copies 100,000s of small images (20 - 300 KB).At least it tries to. When doing large multi-hour operations I start getting exceptions with the"Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service." error message.In a few cases the computer has then crashed.After a lot of debugging, finally with livekd kernal dump I can see that the System PTEs in the Kernel Mem are getting very low.I can monitor the PTE's in realtime with Performance Monitor with the Memory/Free System Page Table Entries.After an hour or so the PTE's start dropping in what appears to be linear fashion as the program keeps copying.Im sure it is the copy function causing the problem, as when i let the code run but with the copy routine commented out, the free PTEs stopped going down.Behaviour is identical with both of these calls. System. IO. File.Copy(strFileSource, strFileDest, bOverwriteFile) My.Computer. FileSystem. CopyFile (strFileSource, strFileDest, bOverwriteFile)If I stop & close the program, PTEs do not seem to rebound at all. If I start the program again, the PTEs again start going down.SO: What is up with File.Copy? Why is it using and not releasing all these PTE's? Seems this memory should be free after the copy.How can I change my code to avoid running up the PTEs?The test computer is Windows XP sp2 with 500MB ram. (also been testing with 1.5 G ram)Ive found some helpful documents on PTEs, which discuss system configuration via registry settings. My log file does not include any clues of the crash, the program just dies with the infamous SEND / DONT SEND window.So I need to setup my customers so that in the event of a program crash, a DUMP file is created automatically, without any user intervention. I mean, I need to download some string from a remote server and then to show that string in the GUI, so I have to use some callback function to call it in the main thread. I found different approaches for this, but all seems very difficult compared to Python where (with GTK) I used something like: gobject.idle_add(callback_function, parameters) and "callback_function" was executed in the main thread. Everything to the left I am not worried about but I need the value that is to the right of the colon for that item.. Is there a better way to stream one stream into another? Maybe a smaller buffer, like 1024 bytes at a time, is more efficient for large files?

I bought acheap USB barcode reader so i could play around with some hypothetical situations. I've managed to get a good chunk of stuff worked out, and had alot of fun along the way. But i thought to myself what if the same tag is passed back along the chain due to production defects and requires remaking.
When it returns to the station to be retagged complete, how do i set the condition for it to search to see if the bar code string already exists in the database prior to either adding a new row (if if returns negative) or to append a cell in the table if the search retuens a positive result.
