I am getting error in the following line of frmContacts.frm. The module code is quite right. My asp.net website logs errors when they occur, but only sometimes shows the line of code where it occurred. Is there a way to find out what line of code my error is occuring on when the line is not provided?My Global.asax logs the error with the following code:

View 4 RepliesI have a VB6 DLL that wraps a call to a 3rd party component. When I call my DLL from VB6, everything works fine, but when I call it from vb.net (2.0 framework targeted - VS2010) I get this error:
AccessViolationException occurred
Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.This error only occurs on Windows 7 (Windows XP clients work fine).I've looked this up and all the articles I found talked about the declaration not being correct.I am not declaring any APIs calls though, the 3rd party component is early bound in my VB6 DLL.I can run the DLL, set a breakpoint,and it goes into my VB6 function, but errors calling a function in the 3rd party component.My VB6 DLL takes 3 string and one 32bit numeric (long in VB6) parameters. The 3rd party's DLL function that I am calling is taking a string (bstrDNSID as string is what Intellisense shows in VB6). This is where it errors.
Update: None of the marshalling has helped, so I tried creating a test sub in my VB6 DLL. I hardcoded all the values within the DLL's test sub. It works fine when called from VB6, but gives the same error as above when running from .NET. Also of interest, when I have the VB6 DLL running from the VB6 IDE, I do not get the error when calling the DLL from .NET.
I have an error appearing in my webbrowser, and as there doesn't seem to be a solution to stopping it, i'm attempting to just detect when it occurs, and use sendkeys to press enter.[code]..

I have an application where I make calls to multiple SQL Server Stored Procedures,keep the user aware that the program is still running and how long the specific SP has been running so that they can abort it if it's taking too long.

I have a table adaptor that pulls from the sql database, when I edit the table adaptor query it makes this specific table adaptor not a part of the dataset. I have added a column to my database which will contain an integer, when I try to add this column to the query this error occurs, i am using the configure area of the table adaptor.

I created a simple program which basically launches programs installed on 32-bit system in the C:Program Files directory. I purposely put an .exe line of code in the compiler but that .exe wasn't installed on the system, I was expecting for an error when I tried to click the launch button and I did. NOTE: I already have a beginning If statement and that program is actually installed in the system, works perfectly no errors appearing.

When the error appeared I looked at it in detail and found it was a system.componentmodel.win32exception type of error, I'm guessing that means a file doesn't exist in the directory I specified therefore the program displays an error.Now what I want to do is display a message box saying along the lines "This program cannot be found in your system" or something like that. But I don't know what the actual syntax/code for it, so far from thinking I have this.

I have some code that was written in C# and am attempting to convert it to VB.Net, for the most part things have gone well but I am running into an issue that I am not sure how to handle. The project has several classes and a few namespaces defined. The issue is [or seems to be] related to the namespace usage.
In the C# code of one class I have

I get the following warning message on the imports line
Namespace or type specified in the Imports 'GdiPlusLib' doesn't contain any public member or cannot be found. Make sure the namespace or the type is defined and contains at least one public member. Make sure the imported element name doesn't use any aliases. There is another instance with a different namespace that gives the same warning and I get 11 errors all of which would seem to be related to the two warnings.

I have been developing windows and web application using Visual Basic 2005 for a long time. Now i want to change from Visual Basic 2005 to Visual Basic 2008. I would like to know what ever projects i have done in visual basic 2005 will works in Visual Basic 2008. There is code to make sure a US phone number is formatted properly.If the user tabs out of the TextBox the Validating code works perfectly and show a message to the user if the phone number is not properly formatted and the focus is place in the offending TextBox.If the user clicks on a button that has code to update the TableAdapterManager the Validating code fires but instead of focus remaining on the offending TextBox, the code in the button Click handler also fires.
I would like to stop the button code from firing.Here is the code for the Validating event of the TextBox:

This table was exported from phpmyadmin (wamp) so it means is created and even with registers inserted directly from console, the problem is when I send from the application, with the following error that indicates that the name of the field doesn't exist or is not well written; Unknown column 'code_empleado' in 'field list'.
I have a testing platform that allows data to be posted to a real time collection system. It uses the StreamWriter object to send both HTTP and XML formats, It works fine, but there is a new request to submit uploaded files. This again works fine, unless the files are over 70k (we need to test upto 3MB). If it is over 70k, the response is the content-length too big. I have changed it so that the content-length is now set dynamically, dependant on the size of the file uploaded. However, when the StreamWriter.Close() runs, the execption The request was aborted: The request was canceled. is generated, with the InnerException Cannot close stream until all bytes are written.
From what I have found on the web, the solution is use StreamWriter.Flush(), but this code is already in place.

I am trying to write code for a login to my program. But the code I have written freeze's the screen. Basicaly I want to check if username (TextBox1) has text in it and then check if password (Textbox2) has text in it. if either textbox has no text then a MsgBox show's with an OK Button. and then I dont want the program to run.
