Reset DataGridView Blank Row If User Clicks In That Row And Takes Focus Off That Row

If a user clicks the blank row at the bottom of a DataGridView and moves focus away from the DataGridView, the row click in now is in a state that indicates a change is made to that row.
Is it possible to tell the DataGridView to un-mark this row as being changed?
Is it possible to reset this row when focus is off the DataGridView?
We are using the following event handler to alert the user if the Invoiced On is left blank:

Looks like we need a way to stop this from executing if the user simply clicks in the grid then clicks somewhere else in the form.

On a data grid view there is a blank row with a (*) in it that allows the user to insert a new row of data.Is there a way to put focus on that row using code even though the data grid view has many rows already loaded in it?

In my form I have a text box (txtJobNo) , a Find button and a dtagridview to display the record for a unique JobNumber. Everything works fine to retrieve data, my problem is the display part in the datagrid view, it replaced the first record. I want to keep all records in place until I am done and then insert all those records in a new table. Please HELP. Please find my code below:

I want to know if VB.Net already has a control like this before I start wasting time building my own. I have a DataGridView that shows the row error symbol in the RowHeader if the update to the database is unsuccessful for that row. Currently, if you hover the mouse over the error icon it will show a default tool tip to display the error text.I would like the user to left-click the RowHeader and a small popup window will show the error text. Then when the user clicks somewhere other than the popup window it will disappear just like a context menu. do I need to build a form with no borders that has a large textbox in it, then setup an event so when the form loses focus it closes? Or does a context menu strip have the ability to support a large textbox? Or do I use a splash screen?

how to get the DataGridView CellMouseDoubleClick to fire when a user double clicks on a DGV cell.I currently have both DGV.CellMouseClick & DGV.CellMouseDoubleClick implimented in my code.The DGV.CellMouseDoubleClick never fires and the DGV.CellMouseClick always fires. The only exception is when I position the cursor between DGV cells and get the double arrow. If I double click with the double arrow then I get the DGV.CellMouseDoubleClick to fire.I need to take different actions for users RT-Click, RT-Dbl-Click, LT-Click and LT-Dbl-Click.

I have 3 group boxes on a form. Each group box contains a single Button and several RadioButtons - each RadioButton has an associated TextBox control. Changing RadioButton in a given GroupBox enables or disables the associated TextBox control in that GroupBox. There is also a RichTextBox on the form and the contents of the RichTextBox change depending on which GroupBox contains the active control.
I am trying to use the GroupBox_Enter event to cause the RichTextBox content to be updated. When the user uses a mouse click to move to a new GroupBox the RichTextBox changes as expected (desired) but if the user tabs from the last control in the prior GroupBox to the first control in the new GroupBox it doesn't, it gets stuck one GroupBox behind. For a class assignment I created an application that takes grades from the user via input box and adds them to an array called grades. Here is some of the code.

My problem is that the variable x is an integer and the user input from the InputBox is a string so I get the error: "Option Strict On disallows implicit conversion from 'String' to 'Integer'.I've already submitted this assignment with out the first three lines of code (which allows the code to run flawlessly), but I would like to know how to get around the error while still using the Option Strict On parameter. I am aware of the ToString method but I am not sure of how to use it here or even if it will work here. I've tried to use in a few variations but none worked.

I'm trying to make a form that takes user input 3 times, and each time compares it to the correct Answer... which is an array of {"C", "D", "A"}.Each time the user's input matches the correct answer ("strCorrectAnswer()"), then I'll add 1 point to intUserScoreCounter. I'm wondering why this code is returning an error (hilighted in blue)? Can I not compare a String to an Array?

I've created an application that runs queries against a SQL server (via Data Adaptors) in VB.NET 08 and returns the results to a DataGridView. It works great and returns my data, but when I switch to a different query that returns different columns, the DataGridView keeps the old columns from the previous query and adds the new columns from the new query to the end (far right) of the DataGridView. Is there a way to counter this? I don't want those previous unused columns showing up in my results.I tried setting the DataGridView DataSource and DataMember to Nothing and that didn't fix it. Datagridview . in cell validated handler and I have the column,row for the cell that I just checked on. If the cell contents are bad, I want to force the cell value to be blank and focus back on that particular cell and try again.The code i've tried simply moves to the next cell in the grid instead of staying where I want it to be. Surely there is a command to focus and put the 'cursor' back in a particular cell.Some sample code I'm working with:

I need to open a new instance of IE and direct it to a web page when a user takes a specific action.Used are random so setting anything on their machine is not an option.This works great on my local machine in developent but when deployed to my server it fails with no error.I must be missing a permission or something simple understanding that on the server things are run under the ASPNET account.My code is in a code class, myCode.We are in VS 2008 and IIS 6.Tried a couple of different things, they all fail silently.

I'm trying to bind a datagridview to a tableadapter which contains a query that requires parameters (for the WHERE statement of the query). The datasource is a SQL Server database. When I bind the datagridview in design view, it does not let me choose which tableadapter method I would like to use. The way I've been fixing this is to go into the code behind that form, where Visual Studio puts in some auto-generated code that fills a datatable in the dataset and I change the method that it's using there and put in my parameters. I don't think this is the proper way to do it, however, especially because sometimes that code doesn't even get generated! My other solution is to just programatically bind the datagridview to a datatable which I have filled using the tableadapter. This seems like more work than it should be, though.

i'm making a utility in which i'm loading 100,000 records again and again, problem is that it takes much time to load records in datagridview every time.
i've used data set and data reader both but same result. if i use paging then there's will be a problem of search a record on keyup event.

I have aconsole application that executes 2 other processes, and then closes the processes once it's finished its work.
If the user closes the console application prematurely, the 2 other processes go rogue and sit idle (As they are expecting to be closed by the console).
Is it possible to detect when the user clicks the X or closes the console app in another fashion, so I can also destroy the spawned processes?

Do something like this
-User Opens program
-User goes to settings.(Settings has a bunch of RadioButtons)
-User Customizes settings, checks certain buttons. (How would I pop up a msg when the user clicks "Ok" with out checking something?
-When "Ok" is pressed, it will "save"
-When settings is opened again, the same RadioButtons will be checked.
Right now, if I exit the settings form, and open it again, the radio buttons are cleared

I currently have a few comboboxes in my project that on the 'Dropdown' event, I have them show items from a database that I have bound to the Combobox, I have tried this on several other events too with the same result.The problem i'm having is when the user clicks the dropdown but doesn't select anything, it automatically defaults the first item in the combobox although nothing was ever really selected so what I want is the combobox to remain blank UNTIL they click on an item in the dropdown, is there a way to avoid this? Is there some code I can place in the combobox's selected indexchange to prevent the first item in the list from appearing unless it was actually physically clicked?

Im trying to create a program that takes an amount entered by the user and then convert it into Half Dollars, quarters, dimes, nickles, and pennies when the calculate button is clicked. Each coin has its own function and is shown in separate text boxes... right now i cant get it to work correctly. When i try to get half dollars to work it rounds up and then the rest of the coins say 0. How should i do this?
