Feb 18, 2010is there a way to tag a control say textboxes on a form.. when I call that tag i can clear all the textboxes associated?

Adding Multiple TextBoxes To A Form (control Array)?
Jun 18, 2012I've tried following the Microsoft instructions to add multiple Textboxes to my form, but just cannot get it to work.Thus, I've deleted everything I wrote, so I don't have code to post. Is there a very simple way to add multiple TextBoxes to a form and be able to index them? If it's too lengthy, Is there a workaround?

Jan 13, 2012as always I'm here asking you a probably stupid question, but I'm upgrading an old vb 6 project, so I'd like to have all the new code more object oriented and as compact as possible.I have a groupbox containing some textboxes. Each of them is filled with the "selecteditem.tostring" property of a listbox everytime I press a button (call it "OK BUTTON"), and everything works fine.

Get Multiple Textboxes To Act As One Control For An Event Handler?
Jul 28, 2011I am using VB2010 Express to create a Windows Form.
I have been able to add an event handler to a single textbox to respond to the ".Leave" action.
Now I want to take multiple textboxes and use them as a single control and use the same event handler.
Eg. If TextBox1, TextBox2 and TextBox3 are grouped as a single control nothing would happen in those boxes until focus went to any other control on the form.
Populating Series Of Textboxes Using Control Arrays
May 22, 2012I am having trouble with .net again. I have a series of 10 text boxes. I want to be able to populate them from an array and read there values into another array. In vb6 I would create a text box array with 10 text boxes / indices. I could then populate them by txtbox(i).text = arrVal(i) and to reference them arrVal(i) = txtbox(i). I am stumped I can create 10 text boxes on a form if I have to, but I want them somehow tied to each other as they were in vb6.

Apr 15, 2011I'm looking to see if anyone has a sample app or has a link to such an app that uses data binding with a grid control and textboxes and is able to insert, change and delete from a datatable which gets updated to a sql server database.I have done an app that has the grid control and the textboxes already and is able to change and delete from the datatable and that action is reflected in the grid control because it has the datatable as the binding source.
The problem I'm having is when the user tries to insert into the datatable I get a concurrency violation error when using the .Update statement to save the changes to the database. This is happening because I don't know exactly how to get those inserts synchronised correcly.I'm sure I'm also doing the processing wrong but here is what I'm doing.When the user clicks an insert button I insert a new row into the datatable. The user now has the ability to enter text into the textboxes. When the user is finished doing that the user can click the save button which issues a .Update statement. That's where the error is displayed

I have a 9x9 grid of many textboxes in my form, and I am trying to output the position of each textbox, as well as its contents, to a text file. For example, if the textbox (3,4) contains 5, I would like to output 3 4 5 to a file, and so on for each text box. Also, I really have no way of knowing which textbox is which, they are only called TextBox1, TextBox2, etc.

May 30, 2012I am looking for a way to save and load the values of all my controls present in my form.My form has around 100 controls spread over 7 tabs. The controls include (Multiline) TextBoxes (Strings), NumericUpDowns (Integers, Decimals) and Checkboxes (Booleans). If the user clicks the save button a "Save File" dialog should appear allowing the user to specify the directory and the filename of the save file.All the values of the controls should then be written to that file.If the user clicks the load button an "Open File" should appear where the user can pick a previously saved save file. All the controls should then adopt the values found in the save file.I have implemented Application Settings in my form, and now when I click save, it saves the control values through My.Settings.Save(). If I click load it loads them.However, my project requires that multiple save files can be made to reflect multiple configurations. As I understand Application Settings only allow for a single .config file in the Application Data folder.So how can I code a save/load routine to save/load different configurations?

May 17, 2012I have a form that has a tabcontrol (TabControl1) and within that tab control is another one (TabControl2). I have textboxes on the main form as well as in each of the tabcontrols.
In my savebutton event I have the following code:

What happens is that it records those textboxes that have changed and writes it to addendum.text. The problem is that it is only capturing those textboxes on my main form and none of the textboxes that get changed within TabControl1 or TabControl2.

Feb 27, 2010I'm dynamically creating x number of textboxes on my form. Once I have done this and the user has done some stuff with them they need to be able to remove all of these textboxes to start again. I've written this code to go in a button, but it only gets rid of two of the textboxes at a time rather than them all in one button click (so it takes like 8 button presses to clear all of the textboxes on the form). Can anyone see the problem?

Jun 17, 2010I'm using VB 2005 and have an Edit - Entry form with Textboxes and several Comboboxes. I populate the Comboboxes with Arraylists as shown below. I populate a datatable with the Employee data from my SQL Server. I assign the BindingSource1.Datasource to my Datatable then add Databindings to the ComboControls. The (Fields.STAFF_MGR_ID.ToString) is from an Enum. When all is complete my textbox fields Bind and move with the MoveNext.. no problem, but the comboboxes display nothing.

Aug 27, 2011I have 5 text boxes that I need to perform several operations on as a group, named tb1, tb2, tb3, tb4, tb5.for example, if I want to retrieve the text from each one and process it, I believe I can use the text box or control collection and test each textbox to see if it's name starts with tb, check to see if it has text in it, and then process the text.I think I would use something like for each textbox in..... to test the collection but not yet comfortable with collections and this seems like a good place to start learning how to use them.
