Wpf - Workflow Designer Line Onclick Too Thin

Apr 12, 2012

I'm making a workflowdesigner to create workflows on a canvas with wpf and vb.net. I have made it possible to draw lines(relations) between objects with a nice function. Now I want to implement a way to delete a relation. I add a onclick handler on the shape but the line is very thin and hard to click. I've heard to draw 2 lines 1 with a thicker stroke thickness, but this isn't possible since the drawline method is heavy on the cpu.

Make Scrollbars A Thin Black Line?

Apr 9, 2010

Is it possible to make the scrollbars in my webbrowser a thin black line which moves up and down, instead of the usual ones?So its just a black line (maybe 3pt thick) which is OVER the content, on the right hand side. So as you scroll the black line changes size like a normal scrollbar, but it isn't separated from the content, its actually over the top of it.Sort of like the scrollbars on an iPhone if you've seen them.

Error - The Designer Cannot Process The Code At Line 118

May 7, 2010

I was working on my project (creating a new form), and when I switched from the code view back to the designer view, I got the following error:

The designer cannot process the code at line 118: Me.VDARSQLDATASET = New Veterinary_Digital_Anesthesia_Records.VDARSQLDATASET() The code within the method 'InitializeComponent' is generated by the designer and should not be manually modified. Please remove any changes and try opening the designer again.I am now getting this error on every page. This project has been working for months just fine, but for some reason the VDARSQLDATASET has dissapeared- kind of. I can still access the dataset (the file is still there), I just can't reference it in the code (intellisense can't find it).

VS 2008 Regex Designer - Show The User The File - Allow Them To Select A Line To Match And / Or Extract From

Aug 23, 2010

This may take some explaining but the concept is pretty simple. A user will select a file which contains data that they wish to extract from, so keeping it simple they pick a file like so:

[Code]....

So, I need to show the user the file, allow them to select a line to match and/or extract from. So they select the first line ready for a match, they then select a word/s to mark as a constant for matching, so in this case it would be: MyGroup A simple version for text match would be like "MyGroup *" Now, I need to convert this to regex dynamically (I assume its the best method), its not a one off, the data that is selected is all open and up to user selection. There could be multiple selections and multiple extractions on the same line!

[Code]....

I have worked on .NET 2.0 technologies and now that I want start learning newer technologies, I am currently very confused on how to proceed.

New technologies I am considering consist of AJAX, Workflow, WCF and WPF

Here is my dilemma:
1. Where should I start first?
2. Which technology would allow me quicker understanding?
3. Is there any specific sequence to this learning?

I understand the questions might be stupid; however, this would help me concentrate on one instead of all over the place and archiving nothing.

.net - VB App Windows TS Thin Client Unique ID?

May 6, 2011

I have a custom bar code app running on .Net 2.0 framework and installed on a Windows Terminal Server. I'm using HP type thin clients and they are pulling their desktop from the TS that has my barcode app installed on it.For the most part, the barcode app runs with no problem. The only issue I have, is that my barcode app needs to print labels to a specific printer based on the work center that the thin client is located in. The barcode app was designed to route the labels based on the device name (Windows name) of the system that the barcode transaction originated from.I have full blown Windows XP Pro systems also running the barcode app and I have no problem with the label routing because each of those type systems has a unique name that I can use for routing. Where I'm running into a problem is that the barcode app running from the thin clients, appears (from the barcode app's point of view) to running from the Terminal Server not the individual thin clients.

Does anyone have any idea how I can pull some type of unique identifier from these thin clients to use within the barcode app to use for routing of the labels?

Finding The Input About Program Workflow?

Sep 18, 2009

I have a program that pulls orders from the database and prints packing slips and labels for the warehouse. There are 2 reports that print out every time and the are potentially 7 others that could print for each order. all of the reports will use the same basic information and just present it in different ways (i.e. label, packing slip, international paperwork, etc). the program we are currently using was written in a rush and I know is not efficient. I am pulling the same information several times for each run. I am trying to redo the program the correct way now. What I am asking input for is what do you think the best way to approach this is. I am currently using the System.Collections.DictionaryBase to store all of the information I need. I am thinking of creating more of those to store the information for each of the reports, but that still doesn't seem like the most efficient way to do it either.

.net - Checking For Null Variable In Workflow 4.0 Transition Condition

Feb 27, 2012

I'm implementing a State Machine in WF 4.0. In some transitions, I have added a condition where I check that some variables have the expected values. The variables are enums and booleans, and everything is fine.

However, now I tried to evaluate when a property is null. I have and argument in my workflow, let's say, 'MyArgument'. In a transition, I try to put a condition like 'MyArgument.MyProperty = Nothing'. I never developed in VB.NET, I don't know if I'm missing something here...

VS2010 gives the following error: "Error 4 Compiler error(s) encountered processing expression "MyArg.MyProp = Nothing".
Operator '=' is not defined for types 'XXXX' and 'XXXX'

The type names are exactly the same, and I have debugged VS2010 to ensure that my assembly is not loaded from 2 different locations.

How can I check if the property is null or not?

BTW, I'm using VS2010 SP 1, with .NET Platform Update 1 installed, on W7 64 bits.

Network Program With Access Works On PC But Not On Thin Client?

Dec 17, 2010

I've made a simple knowledgebase program which contains example documents. The documents are stored in a folder, and in an accessdatabase stands the information about the documents. The program also includes a simple search option. The program itself is located in a folder on a network computer. It has to be a network program for collegues can add other examples. Now it gets weird. at least in my opinion. When I run the program locally -> no problem. When I run the program from another network PC -> no problem. But when I run the program from a network Thin Client -> shaboom..At least when I enter a search option and the connection to the database is opened:"Application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security pollcy. To grand this application the required permission, contact you system administrator or use the Microsoft .NET framework configuration tool."[code]Now I've found a LOT of topics in this forum and many others, and it's clear that apps from another network location are run without "full trust". And the trust issue can be handled with caspol or web.config. Although caspol is a mystery to me and web.config didn't seem to work. But since it's so explicitly crashing on Thin Clients.

When I create a new project, the Form Designer will work, but after I save it and close the IDE and reopen the next day the Form Designer no longer shows the form and instead says "To prevent possible data loss before loading the designer, the following errors must be resolved: An Error occurred while parsing EntityName.Line 2, position 62" If I click ignore and continue, then it just displays a blank form with no controls. The problem appears to have started after I unistalled and reinstalled VB2008 Express.

Workflow & Change Notification In .NET 2010 Application With Backend SQL Database

Jan 28, 2011

I am developing an app that uses a sql backend database (hosted on a different machine). The app I am developing will be run on 10 different workstations simultaneously.Sometimes the app will change the database in such a way that the database needs to initiate a workflow process and I'm not sure of the best way to do this. Also, when database changes happen, how does one best notify the other app instances that the change has happened, so they know to refresh their data? I was thinking that triggers could help initiate the workflow but it might be nice to develop the actual workflow in .net code.Should I write another App to run as a service on the server and do the work and also to tell the client apps when things change?

Asp.net - Change Onclick Of An Image?

Feb 9, 2011

I have an html img

<img id="btnViewSpec" alt="View Spec Sheet"src="/images/viewspec.jpg" style="cursor: pointer;" />

I need to alter the onclick to target different aspx pages based on what's read from the database. Something like:

If DBRead("Keywords").ToString.Contains("glove") Then
Me.btnViewSpec.Attributes.Add("onclick", ("window.open('/SpecSheet/DisplayPDF.aspx?pa=/SpecSheet/GloveSpec.aspx?pid=" & intProductId & "','wnEmailInfo', 'menubar=no,width=820,height=500,toolbar=no,scrollbars=yes,status=yes')"))[code]....

Problem is I can't get the code behind to recognize the image. I tried to register it in the designer code with Protected WithEvents btnViewSpec As HtmlImage but no luck. I guess I just don't fully understand the issue or what gets registered in the designer code.

Perform The Onclientclick But Not The Onclick?

Sep 6, 2011

I have a gridview in which I added some code for onclick in its RowdataBound event to allow the row to be clicked then go to another page.

I added a linkbutton in the last column which has the onclientclick to show a confirmation message whether to delete or not.

When I click the ok on the message, it performs my delete event. But when I click cancel, it goes to another page like what its supposed to do in the onclick.

What I am trying to do is this...

When I click the linkbutton cancel, it will perform the onclientclick to call a messagebox. If I choose cancel, I want it to not execute the onclick anymore.

I am using vb.net and asp.net in visual studio 2008. I am not sure whether this is the right forum or the asp.net.
