IDE :: Calling WebHelp From Application And Displaying Table Of Contents?
Oct 28, 2010
In my vb.net application I call the main page of WebHelp using
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(
[URL]
The web page displays just fine, but the Table of Contents, Index tab and Search tab do not display at all.How do I get them to show when calling help from vb.net?
I am having a hard time displaying the contents of a text file that i read into an array. I read the text of the text file into an array but then i need to display it but i can't seem to get it. I also need to create a criteria to match whatever letter is entered into the textbox and display the contents of the file only beginning with that letter. I know i have to use a substring to read only the first letter but I can't even display the contents of the file from out of the array. Here is what i have so far.
Dim sr As IO.StreamReader = IO.File.OpenText("CRAYONS.TXT") Dim color(50) As String Dim arrynum As Integer
Recently I have browsed the web for ways to display a list of files and folders in a list box. I have successfully been able to display files in drive C and get a nurerical value telling how many files were found. However my efforts have been hampered by three distinct problems. I have some experience using batch files and when using them you can state things like "%WINDER%" to go directly to windows folder. I am wondering if there's anything like that used for navigating. And if so could an example be made of it just for clarity?
My second problem is I cant seem to be able to display files and folders. I have been limited to one or the other. That and I cant figure out how to navigate into them to display there contents. The next problem I have is simply having a user interface so you could type a file path or file extention and have the program navigate to it. Is it is possible to click a file path in a list box and chose to delete it. My second last Q how do I display all files and folders including hidden files? And How can I count all files and folders with there contents to dissplay in a listbox.
I am having a problem displaying a custom array list I have in my code. (BTW. It is 1am where I am. I have been at this for a long time so I apologize if I don't make a lot of sense).I built an arraylist of objects from a custom class. The arraylist contains 2 columnsdimensions. The first is type string, the second decimal.I am now attempting to take my arraylist and display it in my form. I have tried using a listview and iterating through it, but unsure of how to split the two columns up. I have tried something similar to the following I found in another forum:
Code: For i As Integer = 0 To arSearchArray.Count - 1 Dim item As String = CType(arSearchArray(i), String)
I'm working on a site that I've inherited that's built with ASP.Net, which I'm only slightly familiar with. One of the pages allows for a link to a document (word or pdf) that, when clicked on, prompts the user to save or open the file, but does not reveal the true path of the file. This way it prevents users from pasting a url to a file - the link is to an aspx file that checks for a valid session, and then retrieves the file.
Anyway, because there's a lot of legacy code, I need to do this with a bunch of static htm files as well, however these files need to be displayed rather than prompting the user to save them, which is what happens now. I tried changing the content type to application/text, application/html, text/html, etc. and that didn't work, then tried adding a response header of content-disposition inline. When I do that, build, and try linking to the file, I get a couple of runtime exceptions:
[FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format.] Microsoft.VisualBasic.CompilerServices.Conversions.ParseDecimal(String Value, NumberFormatInfo NumberFormat) +206 Microsoft.VisualBasic.CompilerServices.Conversions.ToLong(String Value) +110
[Code].....
Do I have to do something with an htmlwriter object or something? Can't I just have it open a new browser window with the file displaying or does it have to prompt the user if used in this way??
I'm working on a desktop replacement project and was wondering if it possible to have a form which can be docked to the side of the screen that contains all the task tray icons and functions (I would imagine that the functions are held within the task tray/icons themselves as they act as little programs) and would update automatically whenever anything is added.
Also, I'd like it not to have a taskbar entry while running, just having it sit there on the screen until needed.
I am trying to display the contents from a datagrid into a textbox, there are two collums that I want to display. I can get one collum to display by using the following code.
I've been using in the last weeks in this computer are VS2010 with a little Excel, GIMP and Chrome, Why all of a sudden many folder of my computer have a file called "OneNote Table Of Contents.onetoc2"?I checked and, yes, I have OneNote installed here, but I never used it, I didn't even know I had it.I searched around, and I only found articles talking about OneNotes configuration, but I never used it, so... did something that I did with Excel or Visual Studio told OneNotes to start creating those files?
I have a table of reports and queries that users of my application can run. I now have a need to allow them to execute a Function and I'd like to treat the function like I have my reports and queries by listing it in a table with a 'friendly user title' attached to it and then when the code executes, it would reference the name of the function that I have in another field of that same record. I can't seem to figure out how I can get VB to understand and treat the value in a field as the name of a function and execute it.
Table Friendly Name Object Name Object Type Report of Costs rptCosts Report List of Costs qryCosts Query List Active Emails ActiveEmails Function
In my current code I check to see what type of object it is that they want to execute and use either DoCmd.OpenReportor DoCmd.OpenQuery. Now I want to execute a Public Function that I have created that will open its own form to display the resulting requested information in.
I have a page where I would like to collect information about x number of users.I have a control where you enter in the number of users and based off of that number, I create a dynamic table with a row for each user. Each table row has textbox controls that I would like to retrieve the value from on postback. How can this be accomplished?
I'm trying to read the table of contents from a CD and am having problems with the DeviceIOControl function. When I call it with a control code of IOCTL_CDROM_EJECT_MEDIA or IOCTL_CDROM_LOAD_MEDIA it works fine, and opens or closes the CD drawer. But when I call it with a code of IOCTL_CDROM_READ_TOC_EX it gives an error code of 6 (ERROR_INVALID_HANDLE). I'm using the same handle, so I can't see why it's complaining. It's possible that the input data that I'm giving it is wrong, but I don't think that it should give this particular error in that case. [Code]
I am trying to print the contents of a cell in a table. I am using ITestDataTable to get the contents of the cell. How to print the contents of the cell? When I use Msgbox, I am getting an error :I am using the below code for getting data from the html table:
Dim ordertable As Vp.ITestDataTable ordertable = Table_HtmlTable_0.GetTestData("contents") Dim i As Integer Dim j As Integer
I'm trying to write a Function that retrieves the number of rows within a particular table on a HTML page. The table doesn't appear to have a name rather has been allocated a class called "messagelist"What I'm trying to do is have the code that will read my email messages in my web mail account andreport to me when its finished. I'm able to log on and access my inbox but are struggling from here on in.
<tr class="control"><td colspan="6"><form method="post" name="messages" action="/horde/imp/mailbox.php?nocache=asdash635"><table class="messageList" cellspacing="1"><tr class="item">I CANT SEEM TO FIND A TABLE NAME --Can I use table class?All the ROWS are coded...<tr id="row42290" class="unseen"> <td> <input id="check42290" type="checkbox" class="checkbox" name="indices[]"
I need to get the contents of a listbox (from other application) to the current application that I'm developing. I searched and from what I've found you can do that using the handle. I manage to get the handle using spy++ (dragged the finder tool over it) , but i dont know what to do next now that i have found the handle. I am coding in vb.net 2008 language ...
I used the following code for retrieving a column items from access table and displaying it by using list view and it work perfectly, the problem now is that I need to add another column items to the list view ... but how? I displayed the two columns with their headers but the problem is retrieving the items for the second column.
This is the code that I used for the first column: ListView1.Items.Clear() Dim comm As New OleDb.OleDbCommand("select * from TEACHER", cnn) Try cnn.Open() Dim datareader As OleDb.OleDbDataReader [Code] .....
I have a textbox which is part of my program and when I input data to the text box it fills the database with the data the way it is supposed to. I navigate through the data and the textbox show all the data from all the records I input. The problem is when I close the program and reopen it the textbox is empty for the first record. When I run a report or look at the access data base the data is there. If i navigate and go to the second record it shows the data for second and all the others the way it supposed to in the textbox.
I'm trying to make a way for them to export orders to a .rtf file. In order to preserve formatting (bold, underline, etc.), I'm creating a RichTextBox (through code) and formatting the text appropriately. To save the output, I'm simply using the RichTextBox.SaveFile method. Now, to list all of the products that were sold in the order, I'm deriving the information from a ListView. The ListView contains the product name, product price, and quantity sold of that product. I cannot find a way to list the output in a table-like structure, so I tried making a DataGridView and pasting it onto the RichTextBox. Unfortunately, this didn't work at all, so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what I can do. I can't simply use Tabs to space out the information because it doesn't get formatted nicely.
I am facing an issue with the Hyperlink styles under Table of contents in a word Document. Here,I want to Change the Styles For Each Hyperlink for different Heading Levels under a table of Contents. But i am unable to change the styles. It is showing the default styles(Blue color, default Size etc) for hyperlinks.

I am working on a 1-page report, that basically consists to select 1 record from table and bind values to proper fields (eg. =Fields!name.Value).However, I have one field in the table that will be just "Y" or "N".When this field will be "Y" I would like to show in the report "Yes, I do."; otherwise I would like to show "No, I dont."
I am trying to display the contents of a table from an Access 2007 Database inside a List-view Box.I am using a Combo Box to select the user I wish to see the details about:
Private Sub Admin_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load ReadUsers()
I just starting coding in VB.net about two weeks ago so I'm still a begging and I learn best by seeing working code and then adapting it to my situation. That being said, I need help displaying table entries in a listbox. I've successfully created a database in my test application, added it to my Data Sources and used a drag / drop method to add Datagrid View & Details (labels & textboxes) to my application for testing purposes. Now I want to try and display table entries in a listbox.
Also is there any benefit or down side to creating a database in MS Access, create the relationships & tables, then attaching that database to my application or is it better to create the database in the application like I did in the example above by using the Add New - Service-Based Database option?
I have a table in a databases that contains 12 rows. I am loading a runtime dataset with that table. The result are displayed on 2 different controls. The first one is a DataRepeater and the second one is a DataGridView. The DataGridView displays all 12 rows just fine.
The DataRepeater does not. Some of the 12 rows will be blank and some will have the data. Sometimes I won't see any data until I completely cycle the scroll bar to the end and then back and still some of the 12 rows will be blank.
